Hello again,

I thought I'd share this.

Last December I was the lucky winner of a competition in Total 911 to have my car sketched my esteemed auto artist Neil from NG Autocrat www.ngautoart.com
Yesterday it was tagged on Instagram through Jamieblahblah, (cheers mate) who recognised the car sketch through it's work in progress.

Fantastic work Neil, if you read this

Cheers,
Paul

I say again, as I have also said to John, it is a great pleasure to see such beautiful work by people who care.

Hi Robert,

You're very kind. I guessed it was probably you and your comments were very well received and I also appreciate you taking the time to express them to John in person, thank you.

Update on the sketch, the style is hyper-realism and it will look almost like a photo when Neil has finished with it. The reflections look great, I hadn't even noticed the mobile home in the original photo

Cheers,
Paul

Hi All,

Here's couple of shots of the tube and cap which I'm going to make an extension for the windscreen wash reservoir inside the boot/frunk. The existing red cap will be fixed flush inside the extension tube. It should polish, or perhaps a brushed finish nicely. Then just the washer symbol to sort out and it will sit in the hole nicely.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Chaps,

Nearly done. The reservoir cap sits neatly inside the alloy extension tub with some epoxy to bond it in position.

The new alloy cap has been machined out where the threads were and the adjoining end of the extension pipe has been machined around the rim to make and nice male/female connection then bonded.

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks Robert

Here is the render of the inlay for the centre of the new washer cap which is being manufactured to complete the item. It has a slight convex surface i.e. 0.6mm around the circumference and 1.35mm at the centre.

Cheers,
Paul

Thank you 911Jetta, much appreciated mate

Almost done. It wasn't possible to have it sitting much higher otherwise it would have fouled the bottom edge of the hood frame.

Cheers,
Paul

Great improvement. One thing, does the leather need a bit of welting around the round edge?

Hi Robert,

It's a good point but the new "inner-fenders" are alloy plate underneath the leather and we thought this was the neatest solution. I would also have liked to see the new cap a fraction higher but fouling the hood was going to be a problem.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi All,

I have a new part! It's only a little one but it's perfect in every detail

A sunroof hinge clip.

If you ever hear a nasty crack when opening your sunroof a broken clip is quite likely to be the cause.

I had read about another on a 993 recent with a similar problem and result so I thought I may as well post this simple little job.

Unfortunately the only way of fitting it is to disassemble the sunroof frame and just in case you are ever in this predicament this is the order.

Replace in reverse order.

A few of the frunk completed.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi FLYT993,

Thank you so much

Hi Robert,

Thanks, that's much appreciated considering the standards you set

The final touch to the new washer bottle cap, the washer symbol inset.

Cheers,
Paul
