Thanks PaulW_964

Hi Chaps,

Just in case you haven't had enough already here are the door cards completed.

Here's the thing, you might remember I bought some chrome rims for the speakers and window switches. Because the new basket weave leather is quite thick it was going to be too much of a compromise to fit them so after much deliberation we decided to stick with the originals for now at least.

Having seen them fitted I rather like the black against red anyway however, Edward says he can always profile them and get some alloy or chromed ones made for me.

The stopwatch needs screwing to the trim properly but I couldn't wait to see it so here it is.

Cheers,
Paul

Bar set. Wow.
GilesHanna you are a true gent! Thanks!

Hi Guys,

Well the car wasn't ready for this weekend's run out with the boys through the mighty Kingdom of Northumberland to the Scottish Borders which I've really been looking forward to.

John had spent so much time trying to make everything perfect (still has some little jobs and leather to shrink back on the dash and a rear quarter panel) that we didn't get a chance to MOT the car Friday and frustratingly couldn't get it booked in on Saturday. MOT = annual road worthiness test certificate for cars over 3 years old in the UK.

Anyway I went down on Saturday morning to give him some moral support and took a few more snaps. This is it finished........almost.....

The gator boot for the gear lever has plenty of spare leather at the moment to accommodate trimming for another gear **** but the ebony one looks so good for now.

The Redtek badge is still missing but on the final round of photos I'll pick out some of the features.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Chaps,

A glimpse of the graphics, which came from here:

http://www.designstuffonline.co.uk/v...64_decals.html

Great service, great price and quick delivery.

I decided I would like them just above the lower shut line of the doors. We wrapped it around the doors and front and rear panels, then carried across the shark fins. To get a good edge, the fins were removed and then replaced over the graphic.

Cheers,
Paul

I'm pleased you like it Nylasurf

Hi Everyone,

She's passed her MOT today

Tomorrow is snagging day, John's going to go through everything with a magnifying, glass not that there's much left to sort.

The sterling silver Redtek badge fitted to the glove box lid, the polished letters will eventually stand out brighter than the rougher frame.

A better photo of the graphics.

The Function First classic gear ****, now I'm a fussy person but I can tell you this is absolutely beautifully designed and manufactured, even John was taken aback! So full marks to Luka and all involved :thumb:

Also ordered this week, Rennline semi-adjustable engine mounts, camber plates, top mounts, top hats and drop links for front and rear with rubber boots but more of them later.

Cheers,
Paul

Car Looks amazing!

Love the **** too. Is that the Delrin or aluminum? Been on the fence about a new ****. Can't wait to see pics of it installed!!

And where's a good source to get that double cup holder these days?

Thanks very much Guys! I've really enjoyed the build it's taken a lot longer than I anticipated but it's been worth the wait.

The Function First **** is the aluminium one and it's not your cooking grade alloy either, top quality from Luka! I'll post some more photos this weekend when it's installed.

The cup holder is from here, already covered in a decent quality black leather so I saw no reason to recover it.

Bye for now,
