Rob,

Couldnt you pass MOT just by the looks of your new shinny toy ;-)
Nice modifications and work done to it.

I need to solder wires direct to 993 spoiler button as well since I couldnt find the back connector :-(
All the scrapyards had just ripped the looming out and not taken care of other valueable parts that someone might need.

So many great ideas - awesome. MOT's least of your problems - it's the crowd of rubberneckers slowing you up getting to the MOT centre...

are the cables long enough for moving the connectors up there, or do you have to extend them?

I'll do the pass side too since thats bound to go the same way sooner or later.
Mine was fixed with a rivnut. The trick is to gently bend the metal tab towards you so that you can drill out the old nut and put the rivnut in before bending it back. I should add that this knowledge all comes from watching my indy do it.

Regarding the misting in new rear light. Mine did exactly the same and I was going to take it back and complain. Especially because of how much they cost. I then noticed that i'd put the wedge shaped seal that fits on the centre panel end, on the wrong way round. When I changed it round, the light unit snugged in properly to the wing (previously I could only just get the screw to bite but can now get it to screw up securely). The result being that the misting has gone.

Plenty long enough. It's coiled up behind the face plate.

Hmm I'll take another look at the fitment this eve. It seems to have gone together ok...

Very impressive work Rob! you are true craftsman. Your ride height is perfect. What is your set up if you don't mind me asking?

I know it sounds odd and I was truly gobsmacked that positioning of the thicker end of the seal made the difference. Unfortunately, I can't remember if that means thick end at the bottom or vice versa. I'll check it out at the weekend.

Thanks

re the ride heights, I've no idea but I'm pretty sure they're not perfect. The shock collars are as they came out of the box and each corner is different
Once through the MOT it'll not be driven until the geo is done. It looks straight but the wheels will be pointing in all sorts of different directions.

Wooohooo!!!! The car passed :-D

It showed it's gratitude when i got home by snapping the hood release cable. Thankfully it was at the cabin lever end so I could still open it with the aid of pliers. And yes, I do have an emergency release installed :-)

Almost roadworthy now, just the VED to pay and wheel alignment :-)
