Hi Andy, varying opinion on this, some even say that as the wheel does not deform much the car will absorb impact better without the spare (maybe causing more damage though). Has been discussed widely so won't bother to expand too much on it here. Unused to have bikes before the 911 so in comparison still very safe!!

The weight of the stock seats is really something. I had the black leather electric jobbies in mine and have just put them into the attic for storage - that took alot of effort getting them up the ladder!
Binning the washer bottle under the front left arch is an easy delete along with the headlight washers.

Yes, the sport seats are are heavy, about 25kg a piece. Cat bypass saves 10kg, likewise the G pipe and RS flywheel. 100kg is achievable fairly easily when you add up the numbers.

Default weight update..

Ok, had to put the tow hook back in the car so that added a tiny bit back but have taken out lots more bits.. Bypass and flywheel weight reductions are taken form established figures as obviously I can't weigh them..

Updated figures for weight reduction:

Removed so far in Kgs:
Tools: 0.54
Front Fogs:1.1
Spare tire: 13.4
Rear under-tray: 4.97
Tray bolts: 0.15
Tire Pump: 1.2
*Car Jack: 2.04
Rear Seat backs: 6
Rear footwell carpet: 0.7
*Cat bypass: 10kg (est)
*Rs flywheel: 10kg (est)
Rear wiper delete: 6
Intensive wash reservoir: Still need to weigh
*Rear Belts: 2.2
*Rear gas struts: 0.48
*Frunk carpet: 2.3

Total so far: 61.44Kgs!!!

Still need to remove:

Stereo and speakers
Rear Shelf
Sunroof Delete: Might just take motor out for now as not working anyhow
Doorpanels and replace with RS
Rear Heater Bypass pipe (5KGs est)
Also want to replace the rear deck with a duckspolier (7KGs estimated Saving), go with a carbon bonnet (14KGs est saving) and Recaros (13Kgs x2 est) .

Target reduction is 100KGs
.. will take pics at some point of all the stuff removed so far.. As far as my use of the car is concerned none of this has diminished the car's usability on the road..

Useful for planning further reductions though...

I repainted some D90s as will need to use them if going for the full Carrera 4 Lighweight replica.. Anyhow, they look better in Gunmetal but still car does look a lot better with Cup2s, also feels sharper and more precise with the Cup2s. But with a possible engine rebuild coming up I've had to cancel my tire purchase and will have to stick with the D90s for a while in any case as they have ok tires whereas my Cup2s have 20 year old Dunlops. They also have 6mm shims at front and 7mm at back..

To be fair it looks great on those D90's (not normally a look to inspire me), and as you say suits your "form and function" gameplan

Cant really tell from that pic.. but in any case I would probably avoid wider rears if I can, in order to keep the understeer in check. However my Cup2s do have 9" rears so I guess it will eventually go wide in any case.

I painted the D90s myself to save a bit, came out ok but close scrunity shows an amateur did it.. I think the cup2s will be coming your way at some point or elsewhere if I go for powder coating..

As bought from Alex.. quite bad kerbing

Dremelled and sanded as much as possible to smooth out:

Undercoated... they look pretty good actually.. may have to consider this colour on the car:

And finished:

Good job Jack, what paint did you use?

Ps I bet you stunk the house painting them in the living room, I painted a car door in the back bedroom once, took a week for the smell to go.
