It's been a long winter and my car has not been driving well on road tyres and a track geo setup.....too much camber for the Bridgestones resulting in constant steering correction for the grooves in motorway lanes .

First track date in diary was Porsche RS day at Oulton Park 20 March , but needed something to test out on before that . So had geo reset by Danny at Unit 11 , could only reduce camber to 1.5 deg negative ( from 2.5) , and drove down south on Thur 19 Feb in serious rain all the way - 270 miles of mainly Motorway- to run at Goodwood on Friday 20 Feb .

This was a private trackday at Goodwood Circuit , and a good number of the entrants were racers preparing early 911s for the upcoming Members Meeting at Goodwood. So , how did it turn out

Wet then damp then slippy when a 911 lost its full quota of engine oil on circuit.....a day for heroes ( not me ) . My orange 964 lapped in 4th gear with one change down to 3rd for the chicane...'just like driving Miss Daisy' ......did not bother with using the datalogger

Antway here's a pitlane lineup while we waited for the oil dispersant to be applied around just about all of the track - too wet for cement dust unless you were bricklaying

Had a great day at the 15th annual RS day at Oulton Park on Friday. Eleven 964s took to the track and mixed it with lots of GT3s and even a Carrera GT! Here's some of my footage that features Talat in his wide body C2:

Indeed it was. It was hot out there in the old girl! On day one we were all blown away by the performance of the Z06. Steve Gannon and his son Dan (who you'll remember from Curborough) had just got it, so decided to bring it along instead of their 964RS. Young Dan was giving hot laps in it....sub 2 min 50 seconds! On day two it didn't go out much because the front brake discs fractured. So, it was left to the old 964s to keep blatting round...and with the vette out of action, Dan gave me some excellent instruction from the passenger seat.

Sounds good Steve, he knows how to pedal that's for sure

The 996 video is excellent, though I'm not a fan of the backing track.

I recall reading a bit about that car, looks superb in the pics I've seen and sounds fantastic in the video

It's even louder now because after two days of tracking it sounds like all the baffles have disintegrated. It sounded like thunder when he fired it up when we came off the ferry. Simon now needs to look at replacing the exhaust (again) as it won't get on a UK track!

Looks like a decent range of Pork for your trip to Spa! Looks like a good trip

I'm thinking of doing either Oulton Park or Anglesey 18th or 19th August as my first ever track day, is anyone on here booked on to either?
