Great find on the Tinnerman washers. I was able to find a supplier/retailer in Canada for those interested. These are available from a aircraft parts supply shop.

Check out www.aircraftspruce.ca (no affiliation).

Just received the washers in the post and they aren't the same. They are significantly smaller but with the tapered SS bolts i ordered (thought they would be wrong) they will work perfectly well. But if you are trying to create an authentic look like the cup cars, these aren't the correct washer type.

Having said that they will be better than i could buy anyway locally and am still glad jamest posted the link.

thanks again.

All done,

Thanks to Boxsey and others for the helpful DIY and tips.

A couple of pics just to show the washers ordered weren't exactly the size we were looking for, however they are tapered so I simple drilled a hole and cut a tapered seat in the ply for them so everything sits flush.

I didn't place foam padding underneath and after driving today, didn't notice any change in noise.

Steve

Nice job - I just finished up fitting my replacement steering column switch and bingo - I find wet carpet......think I may have a small leak from the RH side of the windscreen as the seal doesn't sit quite right to my eye...you can see it if you are going to Oulton Park on Thursday ?

Did you happen to keep the template for the board ?

Definitely a job for me to do as that old sound deadening foam is well past its best.

I presume you mean Friday at Oulton Ian and yes I'll be there. Many of us have those little leaks, they're really difficult to track down - I believe I have a small one on the left side of my own car but haven't found the cause yet.

I haven't still got the templates. Once I'd removed the soundproofing I used that to start the cardboard templates and then just kept trimming and re-fitting them until that I was happy they were right.

Oops - yes Friday :-)

See you there and I will take a look at the boards as well.

I know where you can get the dished washers if you still need them.

Matt who is a director is a friend of mine and can always find the quirky things that no one else can.

Tell him Lee recommended him.

I had the same problem with finding the correct washers and the bracket. But a friend of mine who also wanted a set of floor boards had a friend.....an this friend made a some sets of washers, almost looking like the real thing and the supporting bracket which is a copy of the real thing because I got all the measurements from a Cup car.

We were four guys with two boards each in the end. I have one set (3 washers and a bracket) as a spare kit. The box is my friends, but I can ask how many he has left. I'll be back!
