Thanks Freedman going to try a place near me that just seems to do nuts, bolts and washers for the parts if not i may try rennline

I took my flooring out and it was bone dry, so thinking of placing the wood in without treating, is the pedal board untreated? If looks like it when i took it out so, to save a bit of effort and time i think i might put them in dry and if i have an issue in a year or two. i will at least have a template.

I've not tried personally but there are plenty of people who have and it seems the factory have exhausted stock and wont be producing any more

Rennline confirmed to me a couple of months ago that they would sell the fitting kits seperately ($60.00 for both sides)

I'd buy their trackmats but theyre no good for RHD

Thats a lot of cash for a few washers and a bracket. Will try the nut and bolt place first or steer towards Boxsey's option. If i have any luck i will post up the place i got them from.

There's probably no need to varnish the boards because as you can see the cup boards aren't. In fact it's probably best not to if you have the boards exposed (no mat on top) so that your feet don't slip. For me it was a case of I might aswell varnish them to make them last.....although it did smell like a boat inside for a while

Like Freedman, I discounted the Rennline track mat option on the basis that they're not suitable for RHD.

The company we have locally that sells fixing couldn't help, so after search through pages of washers (over 3242 on ebay) my eyes hurt but i found something that may be suitable.

and the AN970-3 washers look very similar to the Porsche flat washers that are used on the pedal board (they're also the same price).

@Boxsey: How do you find the strength with the support in only 3 areas? I notice that the Cup car photo has a box section welded in for support but is that enough? How is your now your running it with the 3 supports 2 on the beam and a fabricated 1?

Cup cars are the same as our road cars bar the fabricated bracket (AFAIK at least)

Boxsey has used a door stop (I think) as a replacement for the bracket

Its a good solution IMO and a very simple one

Ive been using a home made floor board for a few months thats not secured in any way at all without problem

I think I'll be getting the washers youve just ordered though PDQ

Yeah i like the solution, but i think i want something a little bigger just for my own peice of mind. May try a small square 5cm block of wood similar to the bracket. and not too heavy (hence the wood option).

might pick up some of that skate board type tape too.

A wood block would work. My door stop idea came from the Rennline version which also uses a rubber support:

If you think about it, you don't actually stand on the footwell. Even when getting in and out of the car. So you only need enough support for resting your feet while driving, are sat in traffic and to support your heels when operating the pedals.

Have you ordered enough of the washers to send me and Freedman some?

Good point Boxsey, yeah perhaps i will revise that idea a bit.

Washers? Sorry i only ordered 10 and i need 6, never thought about it , but with the washers, the other ones you mentioned and some screws (i have ordered the wrong ones but thats another story) it only came to £5.47 inc postage.
