Tell me about it! But that's exactly why it's so important to get out in them and have some fun, of course.

I am tempted myself, although it's a bit of a trek from here. Add me to the list as a possible though - if the sun is shining I might just do it.

Note that it won't be in the 964 though. There's no chance the alternator will be sorted by then (particularly since the knackered one is still on the car!) so if I do come, it will be in one of those horrid water cooled things.

Drive up the day before, relax, bed down in a hotel, get up with a spring in your step...

If I go, I'll be driving up from N london on Saturday pm and staying at a great B&B in Llanwrtyd Wells over night. Then enjoy the drive through mid Wales on Sunday morning.

I realised while chatting to someone today that I should add another couple of details:

The rendezvous Esso garage at Ruthin has a rather lumpy forecourt - beware; the bumps are where the access manhole covers are and, as the area is plain concrete, they're very deceptive - you could easily scrape your bottom on them. So to speak...

Also, the lunch spot I've chosen is big enough to accommodate lots of cars, but doesn't have any seating, so it might be an idea to bring a chair or two if you're able, or something to sit upon on the grass.

At Oulton today, I met a chap called Bill who is looking to buy a 964 (having owned 964s previously). He'll be coming along too, along with a friend of his in, yes, yet another 964. So if anyone might be thinking of selling, or indeed if there's anyone not yet coming who might like the chance to meet a potential buyer, let me know and I'll introduce you.

Hi all and thanks for the introduction John, I am hoping to attend although my partner is overdue with our first child, so jus a slight chance I may have to miss it (the birth!?) if dates clash. But looking at the photos I very much hope to be there. Hope you dont mind an old BMW spoiling the shots. As John says I am also looking to buy so would be interested to hear from anyone who is thinking of selling.

Bill

Watch out for the Widnes/Runcorn bridge - lane closures for roadworks at the weekend currently. Could get snarled if it's a nice day. (Which obviously it will be.)
