Fabspeed 964 C2/C4/RS RSR Header Muffler Kit

I'd be interested in this, but I am likely to never remove the muffler. What do you guys think is the best option for those who want to ditch the stock exhaust on our 964s but don't need the straight pipes?

???? The setup thats been discussed for the last 5 pages lol, just dont use the straights

I understand I just wouldn't use the straights. I guess my question is if I would be paying a premium for features that I didn't need, or is this comparably priced with other exhausts that don't have straights.

Sorry, but you will have to explain yourself a bit more clearly. This thread is about a group buy for a complete set of FABSPEED HEADERS/MUFFLER with or witout heat, which also includes straight pipes that will by pass the muffler, if you only want part of this package, please contact Alex at Fabspeed for details.

I am sure that alex would knock off $40 or so to leave out the straights??? If you want a cheaper exhaust system, I am pretty sure most others dont come with straights, I would say that fabspeed is one of the best tho....the straights dont really raise the price ya know?

Exhaust Nuts....
Is there a replacement exhaust nut that would be better / stronger / less likely to seize or strip? Where would I purchase those?
(For this application we do not need the Allen Head Nuts to reach through the heat exchanger, just regular nuts.)
Thanks!

I am also still waiting for a 6th man to get into this GB so we can finish it off, but I am contacting everyone who already confirmed today to get everything rolling.
Thanks

I hate to put a damper on this tread, but it is fair to post the negatives to consider with the glowing positives. This is beautiful for a no-expense-spared, track-only car, but there are some major problems to consider for street cars.
It is a Federal offense to tamper with emissions controls on an emissions-certified car. It is a local offense in many areas to exceed noise limits. I live in a city, and the neighbors could justifiably complain about noise. Any reasonable person is willing to contribute to cleaner air. My catalytic converter stays.
The weight savings claim is 43.1 lb over stock. A cat by-pass and G-pipe save 27.8 lb (33.8 for the hardware removed, less 6 lb for the new pipes added). Actual weight saved is, therefore, 15.3 lb, or $150/lb before adding installation labor. Removing the cat is illegal in both cases, but it is much easier to reverse a by-pass when the need arises.
The price, not including installation, represents more than 10% of the value of a great-condition 964. It is debatable if any of the cost could be recovered on resale.
I don’t buy the back-pressure reduction = power increase argument. There are reports of 964s losing power due to insufficient back pressure after too many by-passes were installed. We still need to see credible dyno data.
The quality of the factory system is such that many of us are on the original parts after 17 years. Most after-market exhausts I have seen have multiple welds where cracks have been repaired. The extra weight of the factory system does count for some ruggedness and durability.

arrghhhhhh!! I need to call in the next few minutes to place the order and still can't decide if I want the system with heat or no-heat...
I love the looks of just the headers.... clean... but wonder if I am making a mistake by not getting the headers with the heat....
ohhh... 3$%$#$^%!^!#45

Wachuko.
Do yourself a favor and get them WITH heat, if you later on decide to change it, you can always cut the heater boxes off, it will be a lot easier than trying to make some up yourself. By the way, I just tried to call Alex, no answer, the office is closed.

I have to agree with you... as much as I like the clean looks of those headers without the heat... I will order them with heat...

Hi Guys, I was out picking up a car on Monday. Jaime, I will contact you shortly to get the rest of info. I would go with the Heat option because its nice when you can defrost the windows or whatever the case may be. It is easier and makes more sense to do it now so you dont have worry about it later incase you change your mind.
Thanks
