Looks great Alex!! Can't wait to get the new parts in place and take it out for a drive
Hi Everyone, thanks for being patient while the new addiotional parts are being finished. I will be posting pictures, Dyno results and videos of the header muffler kit with all the new parts before the end of the day. The results were astounding and the car sounded great throughout the entire RPM range. Make sure to check back.
Thanks,
Here is a glimpse of the updated parts..

Many thanks!
Alex,
It's nice to see you posting these pics. I'm thankful for your help and vision in setting my car up. There's much I can say, but the fact is, I feel like "KING OF THE ROAD"!!!!! The power band on my car streches through to the top of the RPMs. My headers are a masterpiece of art. It's like sitting on two Harleys with SHOTGUN pipes. Let's see some video and dyno stats.

Well in NJ you would have been able to get away with it if your were registered as a collector car/show car or if you were registered as a antique (25 years old) which the 964 does not qualify for yet....
While I was living there... I was registered as a collector car and I would have had no issue running the Fabspeed Header system because they do not check emmisions under collector car/ show car registration. They only verify mileage and documentation. I had that triangle sticker...
I think that is how Scotty964cab is doing it as well.

It's true, I'm out of compliance with state and federal emmisions requirements and very happy! I have a couple more years for the classic car registration, until then the thrill and excitement is worth it. So you know, Fabspeed has fixtured this exact system with sport cats for the 964, just get with Alex.

Of course if you take an engine out of a 964 in stick it into a '77, 911 that says "Non Catalyst" on the door jamb then one can get away with it. Man I love my '77.

I guess with the sport cats/header system it would be emmisions legal in Georgia....I wonder who could install it.......

You will need a Federal EPA compliance certificate if your emissions inspector sees non-standard parts. I doubt Fabspeed has done the 50,000-mile durability test or completed the other requirements for getting certified. Their advertisment says "off road only". Atlanta has serious air quality problems and therefore has a strict enforcement policy partly to keep the EPA satisfied that they are trying. Worse, our pre-OBD II cars need to be inspected at a station with a roller-dyno. These are few and far between, and tend to be "by the book" places since they invested in the expensive equipment and don't want to lose their certificates. I take mine to Finish Line in Forest Park. I have asked. Greg knows what factory parts look like, and will not approve non-certified after-market systems.

Over here in the UK 964s are not subject to the strict emission laws that you poor guys are subject to. And with the British weather being so corrosive on cars there could be a lot of 964 owners looking for new header/heat exchanger systems. Especially since a pair of new original heat exchangers now retail at £4,000 and seem to be going up in price every year!

Yes, that was exactly the price I was quoted. Add to that a new cat, primary and final silencer and I reckon there would be no change from £8,000!
