Is this the same tank that was a 964 RS/Turbo option but recoded?

If the history on my car is accurate, my car ran in the '93 Supercup and does not have the "X". So I question if it was mandatory. I actually have the Supercup regulations (came with the car), so if I have the patience to translate them I'll look it up in the regs...

Note that my car was also run in the '92 Carrera Cup. Perhaps cars specifically built in '93 for the Supercup had the "X" brace?

Jeff Burger's 92 Cup has the x-brace added later and the air jacks. I'm not positive about the mandatory part, only the anechdotal evidence that I've seen. John Colasante's car has air jacks but no x-brace.

God, I am as green as the car.

Hopefully we will get chance to see it at next years PCGB annual bash or a track day near me soon.

Please keep us posted Colin.

Out of plain curiosity we dyno'd the car on Saturday, interestingly it made exactly the same power and torque as the N-GT. I can't post the curve yet as I will have to lift it from the dyno pc, but I am happy that the two similar mileage cars have made the same power.

Flat out at the 7000rpm limit on the tacho the speedo was reading 285kmph (1990 cars have the speedo pick up on the gearbox, not from the front wheel abs sensor), so it seems that the gearing is pretty much the same as the N-GT and not short geared as suspected. Does not mean that the transmission has been changed though, hopefully the build spec confirmation from Porsche will clarify this.

If the PCGB return to Brands Hatch next year and we still own the car, I will definitely enter it into the Sprint Challenge alongside my regular 993RSCS in the Speed Championship sprint. Would be a shame not to let it compete again, wouldn't it?

The G50/10s were very similar in gear ratio as the standard transmission.

Send it on over, we'll give it a good run...

Yes. 3-5th are the same with 1-2nd being a bit taller. The final drive is the same as the ROW cars, but shorter than the U.S. C2.

Hi Colin, Guys

Just to pick up on a few points.

I have a picture of the '90 cars at Weissach, only 1 green car, out of 33 in the picture (where were the other twenty???) as Bob says -can confirm it is the Manthey car.......will do a bit of digging for you. However, I have a model of a green 'Standox' car with yellow wheels, like yours was......

A '92 car managed 171 mph at Avus.....

My '91 car (chassis number 9111) has the ABS cut off switch, 'X' brace, but no air jacks....

Bob -is your pals car THE Hakkinen car? We have a copy in the UK!

Rgds
Mel
PS See latest Classic Car magazine for my car.... ;-)

Bob's car is an original 1990 Cup car, but not the Mika car. The original Mika car is here in NY fully restored, but in a prior livery than the TAG livery.

How long has it been in NY? I thought it was in Florida at one point...

It was restored in Germany for a gentleman in NY and then delivered directly there. I'm not aware it was in Florida, but I don't know everything...The car was at the Mosport club race running in GT2R due to some...um...modifications...
