On second thoughts - I've deleted my comments. There is no point entering another argument on this because nobody is ever going to change their mind.

All I will say - there clearly is an association between Adrian and Sportec (as Adrian has said himself). It would be useful - and probably help avoid situations like this - if Adrian stated exactly what that association is.

A joey... nice one Christer.

My motive for the post is simple - a response to the intitial post. Had the post been made by Christer or anybody else I would have had the same response. There is no ulterior motives & no anti-Adrian intentions. As it happens, I tink its a good thing that you make some personal financial benefit from your knowledge & ht etime you have put into your books 7 the forums etc. Even better that any benefits help a charitable trust.

This does not change my reaction to your Sportec posts, which continue to read like marketing press releases for performance mods which you previously have had a very low opinion of.

Either way, I hope the trust is going well, that your C4 is in fine fettle & that you enjoy the new Gt-2

Waoo, I was reading through the posts, too bad this thread has turned so ugly. I can understand where John is coming from, but I don't see anything wrong with speaking good about a company who deserves it. Isn't all Rennlist full of biased opinions, it's just normal, we are grown ups and make our own calls!

FWIW guys, Adrian refused any kind of recognition verbal or written for an amazing deal he got me with Sportec (I chased him, and I requested his help just to be clear) , he put me in contact, negotiated for me and then pulled out as soon as it was offered to me, he disappeared from the picture leaving it up to me.

If he has a commercial interest in Sportec then he has made the lousiest negotiation ever, because it was given almost at parts cost. I live in Saudi Arabia and never met him personnally (hopefully soon though) or dealt with him previously, and he had no interest whatsoever in helping me other than this being in his good nature.

Adrian hope you don't take this as taking your defense, many of us still need to do a lot in life to have the privilege to be needed by you.
Thanks .
Jean

Dear Jean,
I am working on the belly. It is the angle I am standing at
I also thank you for your kind words. You are also perfectly correct I got nothing from what I did in this deal. My motto is and remains "Just for Fun".
I do not understand why people make these public posts either.
Rennlist belongs to John Dunkle and the only person who needs to step in if he is not aware or uncomfortable with something is John Dunkle. The entire Sportec series of posts (current and future) by myself were pre-cleared with JD.
Others who privately demanded I explain to them my involvement with Sportec along with a financial statement were passed to JD.
When somebody makes posts like these in public, yes I have to question their motives but hey it is a free world.
Of course in the end really my relationship with Sportec is my business and as long as other Rennlisters can gain some benefit, let the detractors keep going.
It will not stop me doing similar things like I did for you and for a couple of others already which will be revealed when they are good and ready.
Ciao,
Adrian

Dear Howard,
I still for some reason cannot post pictures. Drop me an email and I will send them to you and you can post them up. Mind you with my belly haging over like that the longer distance shots are better.
For the record I remain a 964 C4 owner. My C4 is undergoing some modifications (not my idea) with TÜV and Swiss homologation which will hopefully provide additional choices in the wheel department. I am not letting my C4 go. It will be my transport in the wet and in winter. The GT-2 is a summer only car and not very practical apart from launching oneself at wharp speed along the road or track. The luggage compartment is tiny. My son Jeremy kept saying Energize and pointing his finger forward. Warp factor 4.5 was achieved.

Adrian, I can just imagine your boy doing his best captain picard impression and the two of you hurtling forward at light speed!

FYI - my emai has changed. I will send you the new address as I would love to see the pics!

You are a good man Adrian, and it (the GT2) seems well deserved... Be carefull of violent boost delivery, and lift throttle oversteer! Most importantly HAPPY MOTORING

Cheers,

Greg

Dear Greg,
The boost delivery is quite smooth. It is nothing like the 930 or the 964 Turbo. There is a slight twitch at the rear (well slight for me anyway) when you give it full throttle in 2nd.
I did not feel any lift throttle oversteer either but I am used to twitchy cars.
However as you know with your own monster these type of cars require the utmost respect and concentration.
Sportec do set their cars up for driveability so it is quite good at the low speeds but you always know that under your right foot is maybe a tad too much for the road.

Just has my Top end rebuilt at Ninemeister, after 200 miles bedding in, engine had a remap and is now a very respectable 285 bhp. ( i do have Cat and Primary Cup bypass).

Don't know about the torque figure as yet, but certainly the Sportec results look well worth the investment. Glad you are pleased with it Adrian.

Al.
