Well first off I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread so far. There are some amazing cars here from a 2CV to 2 RRs and everything in between. Of course a ton of other Porsches, which is to be expected here, but I just love the variety of cars that your guys all have. Keep 'em coming!
Secondly, now it's my turn for another addition. I didn't think it would happen this quickly, but alas when the time is right........
Behold my new to me 2005 Caterham 7 Superlight R. I have always been a big British car nut and have always wanted a Caterham. I still remember being 10 years old and getting a ride in my cousin’s Lotus 7 (the precursor). I couldn't resist. 200+HP / ~1100lbs (500kgs). It has a Ford SVT engine, 6 speed g-box, a 10" steering wheel, and lots of carbon!
If you ever have the chance to drive or go for a ride in one of these they are incredible. As much as I really do love my 964 Turbo these things are just insane. I think we all love our 964’s compared to new P’s for the analog feel. It doesn’t get much more analog and raw than this thing.
I just took it to our local track for my HPDE Level 1 and I’m planning more track days with it.
Looks like so much fun! Can a tall person fit in one well?

How tall is tall? I think this size (called the standard or S3) is good to about 6'4" if i recall correctly? But some tall drivers have lowered floors which helps. There is a slightly larger Caterham available called the SV. It's a few inches longer and wider. Shoe size can also be a challenge for guys with big feet as the pedal box is pretty tight. There is quite a community in Japan so if you are ever intrigued I'm sure you can get a ride in one pretty easily. They are an absolutely riot.
Thanks! I’m 6’3” with US size 13 wide feet so I should definitely try one first.

for sure. There are some great groups on Facebook. It’s fun to have a car that I don’t mind being OEM+ (my 964) and then it’s fun to have a car where there are no rules and people don’t get uptight about mods, condition, original paint etc. it also helps that parts are cheap as chips (as the Brits say). message me directly if you have any questions I’d be happy to help out.
In addition to the 964 Targa are 2 true coupes - no sunroofs available.
The 240 Z was never offered with an opening in the roof from the factory. Neither was the 996 GT3.
There were a few factory sunroof 240 Z's made with the sunroof option, really messed with the headroom so it did not make it to the ordering platform - - - there are very few...
I stand corrected. Looking at that 240 - it appears to have other alterations from a factory built car - though the sunroof might not be one of them. The mirrors are not factory and the louvers and spoiler were accessories but not really a factory offering. That said. If the sunroof never made it to the ordering platform isn't it still safe to say the car was not offered with a sunroof?

I have to agree with you that it was UN-available as an option. Just because they produced a few prototype cars it does not mean it was ever available as a factory option...
I've had 33 240 Z''s and they are exceedingly rare. This is the only one I've ever found...
Well I didn't think I'd be adding another one so soon, but I couldn't resist. I sold my daily 2010 A4 Avant to a friend and picked up this 2008 Audi RS6. These were not offered in Canada or the USA. It was imported from Japan. One of the many advantages of being in Canada is that we have a 15 year import rule vs 25 for non-homologated cars.
