Love the overland build. I'm really attracted to the genre but man, living in flat, straight central FL doesn't provide many opportunities to enjoy a vehicle like that ;(
Borne out of pandemic boredom and no international travel. Started doing 2+ week mountain / camp trips instead. Nice excuse to force communion with nature, and it makes a killer tow rig with canopy / fridge / power hookups.
Really a Volvo here in the US. Funny I have never seen one of these and my FIL bought one and I loved it. It's basically a cheaper Volvo with just diff badges. Great car.

Is the 74 silver or marathon blue. I had a gorgeous 74 2.0L in marathon optioned nearly identical but it had black bumpers. I spent 3 years restoring it back in 1995. What a fun go kart. Also had a 2002 for a while both fun toys from a day gone by.
Very cool Anthony! It's actually a faded silver from sitting outside who knows how long.
Im probably the odd duck here. Our main commuter is an electric long tail bike. A yuba Spicy Curry. The other car is a 2015 VW Golf - SEL with 6 speed manual. TDI. Bought it 2 months before the diesel saga. It probably only has 50k miles on it being almost 8 years old
here's what i have hanging around... an older, supercharged S55 Merc does main daily duties and a couple of volvos linger around the house as my wife's daily and my old workhorse - a V70R. the V70R and 944 turbo are casually on the block.
Took a shot today that ended up having all 3 of my cars in it. Two sensible cars and one toy for me. The CX-5 is just a few weeks old and is surprisingly well handling. Also strange that the 964 has the least horsepower of the set!
I love my 80's and early 90's cars. I have a 93 Jaguar xj6, Mercedes 420SEL, and of course the 964
My very first car was a 74 Xj6. Amazing driver when it worked. If British leyland could only get their act together it would have been a great car. I liked the Daimler Jags of the day. Same tub better engine and electrics but not available over here. I lost any interest in modern MB cars. The 80's-90's era were some of their best. I came close to buying a 400 E the other day V8 power in a smaller package. Not as nice as the 500E but very underrated cars. The SEC and SEL's were tanks.
@cobalt you mean like this? haha (although I suspect this was just a regular fill/oil - but it's always comical to see Jags with their hoods up as the stereotype goes! )
This is my dad (quite the dapper english gentleman) and his 1958 Jag XK150OTS white over red leather. He was the first owner. He bought it with insurance money after he was nearly killed head on in his MG-A. Photo taken in northern Quebec where he was a geologist. He sold it in 1980 in Vancouver when I was 4.
Through the power of the internet and forums it took me 24 hours a few months ago to track it down and find the current owner - incredible! Maybe one day i'll be lucky enough to post it here as one of my "other" cars.
