I’m leaning to towards the simplicity, rawness, and lightness of the 964 RS. Ask me again in the July Texas heat, It’ll be the airconditioned 4 liter

Others have 2002 restomods which makes me very happy!
I've been working on ours for a couple years now in what little free time I've got. Garage is packed with parts and individual projects for the car.
Here's a current pic of the space in all its working glory (messy):

On the main bench is the rear sub-frame with the differential completely torn apart. I'm stalling on yanking the bearing races out because I lack the right tools....shopping.
In the fore ground is my 3d printer where I've been trying to make some of the little do-dads that I can't buy....haven't been very successful. Fighting the printer more than anything.
Under that is the front subframe waiting for space on on the workbench to be assembled.
On the back work bench is the heater core torn open and being restored. Under the car is the transmission. An automatic for the wife.
It's waiting for me to find a shop to rebuild it.
If it all goes well, she'll be back on the ground on her own wheels this summer....running? That's a different story.

There are still a lot of little projects to be started let alone complete. For example, the sunroof assembly and dashboard restoration.
It's all a restoration now...so it's taking some time.

Fantastic! And beautiful color. Props to doing it all yourself. Are you using the original motor and tranny? How about suspension and wheels?
any plans to add ac?

With any luck I'll get mine back in 2-3 weeks, just in time for summer.

@mic_crispy Oh man! Your car looks soooo good!
Yes, keeping the original motor and transmission. The motor will be converted to fuel injection instead of keeping the carbs.
Previous setup:

Other than that, the drive train is is the original. Just cleaner!
The suspension is all Ireland Engineering parts with Bilstein shocks and IE Stage 1 Sport Springs.
As for the wheels, we're still trying to decide. We have a set of BMW KBA 41489 wheels that I was originally planning on using, but not 100%

Have a question for you about the rear bumper...do that yourself? Have details for me about it? We'd like to do the same thing.

Very cool! I had that suspension setup before I went with the adjustable kit from CAtuned.

The rear bumper is just this:

Most interesting "other cars" are ones I enjoyed over the years and sold as noted in my signature. That said still having fun. Below are my current daily which is a '21 Macan GTS and my favorite daily ever. Then my C2 which is truly one of my favorite ever weekend toys. Next up is my '69 Merlyn mk 11 Formula Ford that I have enjoyed the last seven years. Finally is my '57 Alfa Sprint Veloce lightweight that I raced for a decade and is now in the final stages of a four year restoration in Europe.
