A fine question, one I asked myself in fact. Concluded I didn't want to bite off too much nor did I know how many have / want city lights. My curiosity is going to mandate that I look further but the kit is already a tad overwhelming in the number of bits it requires so I'm leaning "no" except by special order...

Next time I pull my headlights I was planning on hooking them up by tapping into the side marker light wire bundles. Just was wondering if it was possible to run something from the fuse box instead. Since one would already be doing something with the ground.

After a weekend of Big Crimping I am ready to ship the first kits on Monday. I'll be sending invoices via payal to those who wrote me, in order.
Current stock looks to be all spoken for. Assembling these took way longer than I thought but if there is further interest I would be open to ordering one more round of supplies before I relinquish the kitchen table.

This is my first post here. I recently purchased my first air cooled Porsche. It is a 91 964 cab c4 with a manual trans. I have had it for about three months and absolutely love it. Upgrading the headlights is at the top of the list after working through a few other issues.
I can’t send a PM yet (I am guessing that has to do with never posting before). But, I would love to purchase one of these sets if you make more.

Congrats! If you have the factory H5s... you need H4s! I can't believe I suffered through so many years of H5s on my 1987. When I got the 964 it was the first change I made. I can add you to my list, let me see if I can send you a PM. If it doesn't work just remember to send me one once you've gotten that privilege.

I had a few ask me about parts for the H4 conversion itself. I'm not an expert on this but here's what I ended up with and am happy with.

I ran mine with the chrome ring as supplied. I like the mild backdate kinda vibe. If you don't there are add'l trim rings you'll need as I don't believe the H5 trim ring fits.

I've had a few questions about H5 vs H4 headlights so clarifying: My kit canaccommodate either but I provide parts and support for H4 headlights. Stock, USA cars were supplied with H5 headlights. The post above this one details parts I used to swap to vastly superior H4 headlights. To be clear you can not use a H4 bulb in an H5 headlight or vice versa.
The headlight supply wires in my kit are run into the buckets without their terminals crimped on so that they can use existing grommets. When the high, low and ground wires emerge into the buckets you have two choices:
1. Use the crimp-on terminals and ceramic H4 sockets I provide. Detailed instructions on how to do this are included.
2. Provide your own H5 sockets or figure out how to attached to the existing ones. Because my kit is focused on H4 headlights I don't have any further advice on how to do this.
Shown below: attaching my wires to new supplied H4 terminals. Note abandoned H5 connector taped to back of bucket.

I'm awaiting my kit from Rus and plan to stick with my H5 headlights for the time being. I see where I can buy (online or at local auto stores) the rather inexpensive H5 pigtails (between $5-9.00 each, some indicated as high temp tolerant) that are available for 9004/9007 bulbs. Just by appropriately routing the power leads into the three terminal connections you should be able to use either 9004 (which are typically 65/45 watt) or 9007 (which are typically 65/55). On the face of it, why not wire the pigtail to use the 9007 instead of 9004, thus gaining 10 more watts power at low beam?
Can someone chime in with an "Executive Summary" of whether this is a good idea or not? Not trying to highjack the thread but rather expand the knowledge base surrounding the advantages of using this kit.
