Looks great so far. Although something I always wondered about. The 964 has awful rear lighting barely visible compared to todays LED lights. The earlier lights were even worse. Is anything being done to improve brake lighting to be seen for night driving?
Looks like they are closing off the side mirrors. Are you using a window mounted or older style metal mirror?

I switched mine to LED from BergvilleFX and have been happy so far. Caveat being I never drive at night but think the diff is important more for the day as it’s harder to see in sunlight.
Build looks good for the vision you have. Not my car, of course, but here's another of my 2c. May add up to a dollar eventually. I think the sloped rear lights and reflector panel is essential to the 964-ness. It was an early attempt to modernize the look of the 911. I'd love to see high end builds that maintain or even accentuate this feature.

So far you are at 2 + 2 but then you retracted a previous 2 cents so now you are net 2 cents. Keep it coming. Thats why we post - all opinions are welcome!

I am debating whether to attach to door or the window (like the Singer). I like the look of the older round ones. I am also trying to stay with original Porsche parts. The Porsche classic mirrors attach to the door. There is a gentleman in Germany by the name of Oliver that custom builds these mirrors to look like Porsche classic and has attachments to the side window with fictional levers. Its very high precision good work.
As for the lights, the front headlights will be completely replaced with LED assemblies in Porsche housing. These are quite expensive. Not so expensive are the other external lights which will be replaced with LEDs and corresponding flash relays to account for the lower voltage. They should be brighter than any of the older or 964 bulbs. The most elegant solution seems to be Bergville, though the SuperbrightLED is a great runner up.
These are from Stuttgart Classica in UK These ones are custom.
Nice candy. I can sympathise it is never easy making these decisions and they are costly and somewhat permanent. Hard to argue with the look and quality of the those although they deviate from your original parts theme. I was never a fan of the glass mounted mirrors for use and it took me a long time to get used to the aero mirrors after years of flag mirrored 911's. Whenever I do any custom work I lean to function over form or the best compromise I can rationalize. GL
I go through the exercise of looking at all the options but I always come back to the original criteria I laid out before I started this build and then see if the options meet them. I don't personally like glass mounted mirrors and I find them a bit too close for comfort. These ones do look nice though.
No great news to report. Just hanging out and watching snow fall in minus ridiculous weather!
The fiberglass bumpers and the lightweight long hood is on its way from Germany. These parts should arrive next week. In the meantime I have been coming up with ideas to remove the center console and transplant the controls onto the lower dash. I am deleting the kneepad and will have to figure out whether to cut the replaced metal dash or add some sort of binacle to hold the switches. Since I am removing the motorized spoiler, that one less **** to deal with. Stay tuned.

Thanks Udo!
I just spent like 2 hours going through that build. Rob is a wizard, and I am but a mere mortal who can only watch in awe of his skills. I want to keep the radio, so I will have to add a binnacle to the bottom of the dash or cut/fuse a panel. I will use the switches the way he does. I toyed with making all the buttons binary push buttons in aluminium, but wasn't sure that is the overall look I am going for. Maybe later.

Reason: grammar
The parts arrived and the cutting and fitting has begun. Everything is top notch quality and I am amazed at how light the parts are. The long hood especially is 31 lbs lighter than the original. I had to be careful to balance that front weight loss with a similar amount in the rear , which was close to 30 lbs with removal of the rear wiper assembly, decklid and replacement bumper. I will eventually replace the muffler either the primary or secondary or maybe the whole system. Some mech eng students are looking for a summer project so maybe I get them to design a muffler system.
