Getting ready to set suspension for ride height
I will use these specs found on RL as a starting point.
I think I will try RS plus apx. 15mm for round one. So I’ll set the car up at 140mm front and 235mm rear.
This is my home made measuring tool. It’s winter and I have time to waste.

Couldn’t resist rolling Dory outside for a few pics.
This is just set at prelim heights. I need to get the Cup 1’s, refinish and install, alignment etc. And then fine tune and make sure the bump steer is not to offensive.
Honestly this car is unwashed and the interior is still dirty, the 996 wheels are only fair, but holy smokes it looks good to my eyes.

Mildly mentally satisfying
Drilled the air box today. Abandoned the cone filter idea after reading the controversy regarding over oiling and screwing up sensors. This little job is somewhat satisfying If you like things to be tidy and aligned.

To plate or not to plate.... that is the question.
In Nova Scotia we do not require front plates. That said the plate indent in the 964 facia is definitely an unattractive and unnecessary feature.
I have attached a Euro plate that Larry picked up a few years back. He’s feeling generous today so I stuck her on while his mood allowed. Hmmm... not bad, I’ll defer final decision on that towards the end of the project.

Love the sport seats obviously. I had a friend with a pair that were similarly discolored, mostly driver's side as the PO tended to sweat a lot while driving. I usually use the (recommended here) leather cleaners and certainly they work for a much better finish. But I was stunned when my friend started scrubbing his with a soft brush and Simple Green. Even more stunned when the seats dried fairly quickly and they looked amazing. Gone was all the oily residue and instead, the lovely matt finish that came from the factory, the color really popped too. After a few days he then applied a leather food which softens the hide a little and helped with cracking.
I did the same on my Cobalt seats and the results were the same, although mine were not nearly as bad to begin with. What I like best is that the original finish of the seats is not shiny, it is matt and that was restored. Now when I look at dealer prepped cars shiny with armorall or some other rubbish, I can't help feeling sorry for the new owners.

There are some leather cleaners like Leather Master Strong Cleaner that can be applied and scrubbed with a brush that will give the same matte factory finish. I believe they’re better suited as they’re pH adjusted to prevent future leather break down. Follow with your favorite conditioner.
I also despise the shiny products used on leather and vinyl, many cause harm to the underlying adhesives for any of the hard backed surfaces and result in leather lift and shrinkage too.

Yesterday was overcast all day (maybe like in your pictures), and I have to say that's my favorite outside lighting condition for this color. Just a solid, stunning blue.

Can’t get to detailing yet. Yes, lot’s of time.....
I am looking forward to the detailing of the car and I will take the advice above when cleaning the leather seats....but lots to do before I can get started on that.
Today, we started to pull the entire, off engine, oil system so we can flush all the lines and ultrasonically clean the oil tank and oil cooler. The engine damage was minor and we have detected almost no metal bits even when we opened and examined the filter.....still, we don’t want to risk future problems with any residual contaminants in the system. This stuff is not as much fun to do but never the less needs to be done.

Working on seats
I did some work on my seats and they are much better. Still, the “stains” on the driver seat seem to be more a fading of the dye than oils impregnated in the leather. The drivers door bolster is especially in need of colour. I will investigate this with a leather specialist.
