What an amazing journey and project, Ryan! As as an aspiring wrench myself I've been taking on larger and larger projects with the car, contemplating an engine drop and scope similar to what you've done. Your valuable documentation and chronicling of your experiences is going to go a long way in helping me decide whether I want to tackle this myself or not. Congratulations on having a car that is in much better shape than when you started!

Very gratifying when it is all done. I am glad you took your time. There is always something. When you consider the hours at a shop rates of $125 to $200 an hour these days you saved yourself at least $14k in labor. Although once you have done this a few times you can get the hours down it is still a significant chunk of change.

Now to put some miles on. You should be good for a long while.

Thanks for sharing Ryan. What was especially valuable to me was when you admitting you had a problem, found a solution and then shared that solution in your post.
Enjoy your ride.

Very impressive repair/update list, Rennlist help or not. I'm sure you've inspired others to follow your lead and tackle more projects themselves, and that's what makes this place great.
Can't wait to see more drive pictures!

Great job Ryan

It's overwhelming at first, once you're in its a breeze.
