Lindsey offer pipes with "swedges" to keep the pipes from blowing off. Is this really an issue?

I'm in.
As for the sponsor issues, evil would just need to ask John D. If he said no, we could all contact each other elsewhere. No harm. No foul.
Thanks evil.

my lindsey pipes don't have this (guess they are earlier ones?) and the throttle body to IC pipe has problems with being blown off.

Ok, so on the tech side of this...what kind of "Proven" horsepower gains can we expect from a more straight pipe?

Teste
I think this is more of a bling and neatness issue rather that a HP gain type
but I could be wrong. If I am correct, the gains I would be minimal at best ?
Frankly, I would suspect it would be a gain somewhere on the order of:
" A nit on a Gnat's nut "
" A hair on a ticks ear "
" A fart in a wind storm "
Ya catch my drift
Regards
Ed

I had a SFR pair years ago(gReddy Bypass), and they were heavy.....I mean maybe a inkling of a decrease in spool time....
Seriously I can think of a lot better places to spend my money!
Someone help justify their existence....

It's all about the bling.

Hey don't look at me, I bought a set of the shiny ones when they were $300/set. They just look purdy.

This may sound crazy, but there is something about the lenght of pipe too

That is that all the pipes start at the same length then are bent in to the two and four way. At no time can the lenght of the pipe change on the bend and where they come into contact with one another.

Honestly, and this is not practical, but back in the day when I raced. We cut the pies off equally and they ran straight out of the muffler and down.

Once you MAF a car the stock pipes look wierd - they just dont fit in IMHO. (Also you lose the large rubber elbow off the turbo and usually replace connectors with nice new silicone parts which isnt a bad thing.)

Probably my single biggest reason for getting the "hard" pipes. Aesthetics.

A shorter set from thin wall aluminum without the crimps for the OEM airbox clearance is all that is needed for those running an MAF. The OEM thin wall design is efficent as hell if you are running stock air metering and filtration. The Porsche engineers weren't idiots, the need for stainless steel is bling at it's best.
