Hard Pipe Blues...(rant)

I don't see the kit I bought listed anymore, but you might call and see what they have.

The kit I bought attaches to your power drill. I secured my drill to a drill press(~$20) and moved the parts around the drill. The process is as follows:
1)Use 80 grit compound and a wheel and knock all the huge bumps off of the parts.
2)use 120 grit
3)use 240 grit
4)use 320 grit
5)use jewelers rouge
6)use white compound
For the intake manifold pipes you can get away with removing the powder coating (easy off extra strength works good....just don't let it sit too long or it will dissolve the aluminum). Then start at the 240 or 320 grit depending on how much/if any black anodizing you still have left.
It's not difficult work, but it can be time consuming. The intake manifold took me over 10 hours worth of work. The intake pipes were around 3-4 hours. If I had to do it over again I would have used a bench grinder because it has more power than the cheap drill I used.
There are plenty of places that offer more in depth how to articles...but this is a good general idea.

I do have a set of Lindsey Hard pipes for sale, one is cut off about 3/4 inch where it goes into the throttle body, so you have to use your stock boot to make it work. There are sanded and then treating with steel wool but could be polished of course. Please send me a PM with price if interested.

The old pipes are routed to go around the air box, of course, but the turbo outlet is also set up for this. Has anyone reclocked their cold side to get it pointed more directly to the IC? I think I'm going to try it. I have 2 factory IC pipes and plan to cut and weld them to get one relatively smooth arc from the turbo to the IC. The most expensive thing will be $20 for the silicon transition hose from the turbo to the pipe.

I'm in the process of making some now. I have to ad up the material cost before I offer any to sell.
I can make them in mild steel, SS or aluminum.
I'll keep everyone posted and I will post pics when I get done.
