I'm just trying to figure out which is the best type of material to use...Aluminum would be lighter than stainless steel, and lighter is always good, so what are the drawbacks to using it?
one disadvantage I can think of for mild steel is the weight

Mild steel will rust and look nasty real fast, plus it's heavy,
Stainless is great but expensive and heavy,
and Aluminum is light, won't rust, and has great cooling capacity.
Porsche used aluminum, so I would stick to that and keep the weight down.
Only disadvantages I can thing of are that is does get dull over time, and must be TIG welded, or MIG if you're good and have the right machine.

I'm building an aluminum set right now. Thats the best, in my opinion. Its also Tig welded.
The main problem I have in making these for others is.. there are alot of BOV options. I use a different BOV so I welded my flange in a different location.
If everyone wants a stock BOV location/setup thats fine. If anyone wants something different, well the cost just went up.

Threads like this has been killed before. I see you're not a sponsor so this one will get killed as soon as you post a price. Why not take it over to another of the lists?

Please, no tire kickers. These do not cost $10. On the same note they don't cost $300 either. There is time involved and the metal prices have gone up so keep that in mind.
