Default It's alive!! My 3.3l

After over a year in development and two times doing a full build, I took my new sid style 3.3l to the track. Everything worked perfect. No leaks, great ar's great temp.

I'm keeping the boost down to 10psi spring pressure for now, and with that the car is a handful!

Thanks to all the great resources in this list! I would never have been able to build this without the great information here

Initial lap times are over 5 seconds quicker than my old moter, and I wasn't really trying hard

That's awesome Jeff.

Do some head work and keep the boost down and just enjoy kicking ***.

build info is scattered on several threads. I did not do a separate build thread.

quick rundown is:
s2 block - dry sleeved and pinned
s2 crank offset ground
2.7l head
weisco sbc pistons 8.5:1 cr
lindsy super53 / factory headers / downpipe.
mtune

I have a set of sfr stg 2 headers, 3" downpipe and a presicion 6466 t4 on order, but its taking a long time for the turbo to come in, so I'm running with the factory/lindsy stuff right now.

I'd say I hit full boost (10psi) by 2300 rpm there is virtually no turbo lag between the low rpm and the amount of off boost torque

I also removed my dash, and am only running with a piece of plastic center console that I made.

I'm going to have some fun chasing down cup cars

Super 53 sounds too small for a 3.3, I don't remember exactly which BB turbo Diver 944 had on his 3.2 but I think it was bigger than a 53 and that seemed to limit bhp.

But in the meantime he's run the LR53 on track. Diver damaged a piston on his 3.2, supposedly due to exhaust back pressure/heat....

How's the power on the top end if it spools that fast and only 10psi?

Congrats! Now that's a big 4 cylinder motor! 10psi at 2300 must be interesting!

One of the most experienced UK Porsche engine builders has suggested applying power from low revs contributes to bore issues, I think...
