Yes , the cam wheels are affordable Pat . Its like a moving billboard for DRS .
If people want a moan about money wasted on modifying a car , buy a boat . Now that really is a good way to get rid of your cash . Depreciation, maintenance , fuel , berthing etc . At least we all own our cars and can shut the garage door for a while when it gets to much .
Everyone's standards are different - to me a modified car should be at least as durable and reliable as a top of the range factory road car (NB. not a factory race car) e.g. ability to circulate a track non-stop for as long as a GT3 and then reliably drive home across Europe without having to touch anything. That's a mature well engineered build as opposed to backyard lash-up. I've spoken to people who wouldn't take any wet-sumped car to the track ( ex Carrera Cup driver) and for some that might be an overly conservative position. I consider my Setrab 925 oil cooler to be minimal, so I have a 934 as a spare. The Porsche cooling loops for power steering & transaxle cooling - fine for a road car but totally inadequate for the track - again Setrab to the rescue.
If my car won't be able to run as many (non-stop) laps as a GT3 or my brother's mapped M2 Comp - then to me I've failed - it's a poorly engineered build.

Lovely, is hood clearance an issue on the inlet cam wheel though? Is there a source of suitable turbo cams now that rsbarn has shut?
