If this is a street car, I would seriously consider the cut/welded 951 intake route. It's cheap, straight forward, and you know it'll fit. For 2.5L and stock-ish redline I bet you'll get a decent result. Plus if you hate it, you're not out much time or $$$. I'm sure this has been done many times over the years, hopefully someone can chime in with specific experience.

Are you using the stock 951 bottom end and flycutting the pistons?

Paulyy, nothing wrong with 7k with a 16v head, remember the factory redline on the S was 6800. Realistically I will also keep it to 6800. Thales, I agree with your logic, its too simple to not try it and if it doesnt get me what I want, its easy to cut the plenum off, build a custom one, and reuse the runners and flange. I will be using a stock bottom end with flycut pistons and michael mount's H bearing modification on stock 951 rods. Turbo will be an HX35/.63. Megasquirt engine management. When I ask myself after "was it worth it?" If the performance is better than my 8 valve head, the answer, to me, is yes.

Here is mine:

This should come to the 4 liter. I just bought a 90mm pipe, some plating and think flange material. Costed me about €150 and the intake was already here. So that's a lot better than a turbo plenum to S runners!~

I am considering doing a 951/S2 hybrid intake. The big question I have is if the angle where the intake meets the head is different.

A few people inquired, so here are the details.
The setup is from a 3.2 16 valve turbo. I have everything for the setup. Engine had #4 cylinder failure. Cranks is a custom 3.2 crank, head is custom with variocam, titanium valves. Headers are sfr and custom intake with 968 throttle body setup.
I will start another thread soon. Prefer not to break the bits and pieces.

Ports on the 968 head are slightly larger than on the S/S2 head.

True, they are 50 i think. My velocity stacks are 48mm and they fit perfect (did have to make the holes round but no problem with the 10mm thick flange)

@azbanks, I would really like to suggest to get a larger plenum!

If you go with joining the 16v S2 manifold to the turbo plenum, (which I did) there is a fair bit of matching to do, I had 5 separate inserts to make the runner joins flow, other tip is get it best you can fully weld it then cut it again through the middle of the runners so you can get inside to port the joins either side, the last cut you made will align perfectly when rejoined, reason from experience its just too hard to get inside the manifold to port the welds. Lots of hours involved though.
