Looks like ours will be very similar to yours Bas. I am guessing your plenum to be about 4.5ltr...did you ever measure the volume? We had to reinforce the V-stacks unfortunately. We didn't have time to make them so just bought some off the shelf. They told us they were 1.6mm thick but are only 1.2mm. Will have to build some supports for the plenum too. Really wish we'd made this decision a few weeks ago but it is what it is.

^^ If those outlets on the Jenvey setup were on the side rather than the bottom that could be interesting. Problem with buying something like that is trying to make it fit rather than making something bespoke in the shop. The V-Stack issue we've had to modify due to being told the wrong information and running out of time.

Was running fine 2 years ago Patrick, pulled here down again to to some more work, then started working on the 996t so the poor girl went into hibernation for a while, I am spending my night slowly connecting all back up again, hope she will be ready for spring

Looks good Patrick. Pretty long runners. Stacks also add to the length. Maybe a bit over 300mm (including head port)?

They're definitely longer than Corleone's! The thinking was that we didn't want to go too short while these are quite a bit shorter than stock. This may yet be a temporary measure. See what happens on Wednesday at the dyno and then on the track this Saturday.

Looking forward to seeing the results. Will this be the same dyno and load rates you used before? Be great to see a comparison.

Same dyno and I would assume load rate. Last dyno we had issues with running slicks which just melted. Had a bit of wheelspin. So we're taking some medium compound R specs which will be a bit better. Road tyres are meant to be the best on a dyno.

Runners 5"/ 127mm shorter than stock.

TBH I think that some of what Paul is building is down to space as well. The ducted cooling core 'box' and where the expansion tank was located meant compromising how this came together. That's just my guess. In any case, this should be suitably different to what we had once it's done.

He Patrick, I didn't measure it yet.. I'll be grinding the welds on the inside today i guess to make it all smooth, than i'll get on to measuring the plenum volume.

The problem of my design in comparison to yours it that my turbo is so big i couldn't get my runners longer!

Well we'd probably have liked to get ours a bit shorter but it will be a big improvement anyway.

Apologies to Doug who started this thread. Should make another one. Maybe we should make an Intake thread in general.

Patrick, no apology needed! This thread is full of great info and pics, I thought it was all totally on topic. Forgive me for not responding, I've been following closely, just busy with other things. The intake is under construction, I've moved away from reusing any factory bits. My intake is probably going to look very similar to yours when finished, I'm shooting for runners (including the stacks) just a touch shorter than stock, I don't want a powerband at 8,000 rpm because I don't have the bottom end or cams to support that. Speaking of bottom ends though, I just made a thread about getting some pistons. Depending on price, I'm looking at getting some 16v turbo pistons or just doing a 16v hybrid stroker since I can get a cheap block and crank. Currently trying to find cheap(er) alternatives to the MID's. I dont wan to spend 1k on sleeves + machine work. The other issue is I've not been successful in finding a local machine shop willing to touch a crank for me in either Austin or San Antonio, Tx.
