The 944 is 2+2 so it is family friendly.

I would strongly recommend a 944 as a luxurious family vehicle. There's nothing in this world that could bring you,,,, Closer together, than one of these classic, Reliable cars. The distance from the ground will be no problem for the little ones, and you won't have to worry about any messes, because there aren't any cup holders! You should buy the most expensive version you can find (preferably in the north east), possibly from a dealer who has had the opportunity to tinker on it and (not)mess everything up!!!😅

Oh yea! It’s a perfect family vehicle for those who are vertically challenged. The back seats are already suitable for infants to small toddlers, which saves $$$ on child restraint seats. And with a weight capacity of 400lbs you could use the rear hatch area to store a repair manual for your long trips. If head room is needed for the front occupants the sunroof can “pop up” in the rear or just be removed completely and be placed with the repair manual. And with it being a 30+ year old Porsche, parts are supper easy and cheap to find.

Integrated engineering is having a site wide black friday/cyber monday sale? Are they the only source for engine internals? How far can these engines go on stock internals?

Not sure about them being the only ones to offer any parts . But as far as the power handling goes , I seem to keep coming across the number of 400hp before you need to dive into the internals . I`m hitting my local pick n pull tomorrow for my 07k .

LOL, I daily drove an '87 S for probably 10 years, 4 person family, every trip we took, some hiking/trekking with several days food, drink, 4 person tent and everything to support 4 people for 2-3 days.

Point taken on rear seating size though...., as my oldest got past 10, on long trips, he had one leg extended with one foot on my console door and the other on my left arm rest....

Had a dude and his GF in a new RX7 challenge me on Ark. Scenic Hwy 7 back then en route to one of these hiking trips, fully laden, put the hammer down and lost him in my rear view in about 10 minutes....

Wow, that’s awesome. What year and engine code? If it’s an early one, did you luck out and get a forged crank?

Sadly , No . It is a 2010 CBU code . I`ll pickup another engine later to build and find a forged crank .

The CBU engines are actually pretty plentiful especially up here in the north east. Should be a great platform for either stock or boosted. It's actually the same code I've been looking at getting as well

Earlier it was posited that the stock 07K intake manifold likely wouldn't clear the 944 shock tower.

Would you mind measuring the protrusion of the intake from the engine, as well as the stock exhaust manifold?

Alan and I went over this in email, the stock intake hits the brake booster pretty hard, even if you were to move the throttle body housing to the other side. I was really hoping it would fit too, but I'm not sure about the exhaust.

Would it perhaps clear the chassis and fire wall if the booster were removed?

If you removed the booster, and managed to relocate the throttle body mount, then it just might. I don't know for sure though.
