Did Novak say he have experience with modifying the 220 mm S2 PP for high power? My S2 Spec Stage 4 clutch holds up to ~570 hp which I'm currently running. Anymore than that and it slips.

Uhm.. He didn't tell me! But i got a response from Clutchnet; their PP should be able to hold 720NM, those are custome PP's.. Than with a feramic disk it should hold the power!

I'm sceptical... their stage 4 clutch with the reworked PP and 6 puck disc is specified to 370 ft lbs for the S2. Sounds like you got the numbers for the 240 mm 951 clutch?

No, obviously it would be experimental. However, I have seen some seriously loaded small diameter pp'd in the DSM world, so I'm pretty sure it can be done. Your leg on the other hand.......

I agree, it can be done but it just haven't found a trustworty source for custom PP's. If Kep offered one that would have made life easy. I called them earlier this summer but never got hold of anyone who knew anything. The old man answering the phone hardly knew they made stuff for Porsche

Well you know I went through many different setups trying to get my car to hold. This has been the only one to work for me. I'm sure you're aware of how much abuse repeated launches and power shifts entail.

I wouldn't do anything else now.

I do know that Dave would work with you to get what you need. Even as busy as he's been with all the new stuff in the works.

I've had great success with the Spec clutches with the 951 diameter flywheel and like the quick release. But I really don't want to be a ginuea pig for a modified clutch to hold with the smaller diameter S2 flywheel. That's why I'll probably do a twin disc setup.

Lol, you'll throw some Mitsubishi rods in your engine from the idea of some crazy guy, but don't want to be a ginuea pig...

You have to see the humor...

you got a point there
But the thing is that I didn't just throw a set of Mitsu rods in the engine. Offset stroking is not new by itself and I chose Carrillo 1000 hp proven rods and had the crank nitrided for maximum reliability. I'm open to new ideas but with with parts or vendors I trust.

This company repacks clutch friction material with carbon ceramic composite. It will hold more power and will not get burned if abused, but steel surfaces must be flat, since it does not seat as easy as organic friction material.

Looks like this:

We will soon have a new 185mm twin disc kit for the 951 to offer up. Will hold 800 Ft. Lbs. Quicker revs. Quicker shifts.

So now we have the right clutchdisks.. But how about the PP's? Because according to Clutchnet theirs will hold the 720Nm for the S2 PP..

Hopefully Mike will have a good PP available for the S2 flywheel!

I have a lightly used Spec setup from a 550rwhp 16 valve 3.2 turbo. This uses the 968 bell housing and tt setup for quick swaps. Let me know if you are interested.

FYI twin disc set up last maybe 10 k miles at best on the street, lots of launches and very aggressive driving and you will be rebuilding it after 5k miles...speaking from experience

They work great but be prepared to re line the discs frequently in a daily driver or street car and we all know R&R the clutch is a time consuming procedure for the 951.

I hadn't realized that David from Spec is a 951 guy, but he is. He is taking a V8 powered wide body to SEMA. You might try to give him a call or shoot him an e-mail, since he obviously knows both teh cars and clutches.
