I had an Audi 200 turbo a long time ago, think it was a '91. Did not really look like any of the pics above. I did not have it very long. Turn and burn after the unintended acceleration mumbo jumbo. I am pretty sure it looked like this: Name: image-2045255994.jpg

Talk about a direct mount to the exhaust manifold!

What a day here in Atlanta! It was 77 F and I went out to do some tuning with the new intake. What a blast! I am so glad Winter is over.

Boy how great would that be if we could use an exhaust manifold on our cars
Wouldn't have to deal with that crossover bull$hit.... etc

Those are two different engines shown (depends on the year of the 200). Top pictures is a 20v turbo, bottom is a 10v turbo (notice how the bottom isn't a crossflow head?). The 20v had a better turbo manifold since they had more room for packaging (the 10v had the intake on the exhaust side along with all of the CIS airbox crap to deal with)

Is a crossflow head (exhaust exiting where intake manifold is) a possibility for a 951? Turbo can remain in the stock location with short exhaust runners plumbed into the turbines inlet. Intake manifold and fuel rail positioned where the stock exhaust manifold is. Lots of heat on top of the block but I'm sure the block and hood could be insulated enough. Maybe the right hand side head of a 928 could be used on the 951 block?

Ok but since the S6 using the AAN intake came out after the S2/RS2 (ABY/3B intake), I would guess Audi had learned a things or two in between. Funny it took them more than 10 years to move the TB to the other side of the engine. They probably didn't have enough room because of the funny twin radiator set up on the 80-based cars.

Speaking of intake plenums and sizing.

We are installing a large plenum intake on a 2.7 biturbo and dynoing it tomorrow. The car has been heavily modded and has a few baselines done. They may swap tge intake at the dyno for back to back comparisons.

While it isn't the same engine, the torque curve should give a good indication of what we may experience.

Sid, is that an B5 RS4?

These have a lot of potential, a friend has one making 600 ft.lbs on E85, with the stock intake.

It's a b5 s4.

I don't know the power ATM. I'm just interested in the tq curve difference.

It's a pretty fast little car.

Talking to the apikol guys, the top end picks up pretty good even on the 1.8 with a large plenum. Good to know, as I just picked up a b5 avant for a dd. Pretty boring so far. Also has slowed down my engine progress

Reminds me of the B&M pro shifters. looks cool, but it doesn't look comfortable to shift with.
If you make it, i'm sure it'll be a piece of art
