Default At the track. Car died

Durin my first stint my car sputtered and died. Won't start. Have spark and fuel pressure. Car was running like a bat out of hell before. I'm stumped as to what to check next. Have mtune, power looks good

If I try to start she tries to turn over. Back fires. What do I look for next?

Not sure of the particulars/components to Mtune. Is it still utilizing the stock TPS and full throttle signal? If so, check the full load signal from the throttle position switch. Might be sending an errant full load signal to the DME/KLR. So DME goes to full throttle map even though car is idling. Will die from too much fuel. I had a TPS go bad and cause a no run, no start condition. Could smell the gas/richness. Unplugged the TPS and the car started and ran (although in limp home mode).

Will it fire if you hold the throttle all the way open while cranking ?

Did you check the timing belt?

If you have spark and say you have fuel pressure then your s/r sensors are fine.

Does it smell like fuel?

check your hose connections like at the J boot and at the intercooler, you could have a massive vacuum leak= no start and backfire.

update. After checking fuel and spark and some discussions with people, I figured I'd check the timing. I pulled off the distributor and the rotor fell off with it. The set screw backed out. 29c at home depot and some loctite and im good to go.

Nice! When mine quit like that, the motor was seized (and still is).

well, was a fun weekend, but plauged with mechanicals. I had the rotor issue. Then I went to check my oil and the dip stick tube tab broke off. Unfortunately, that was right before my session, so I missed most of it zip tying the tube down. Finally on my second stint I started leaking oil and had to come in. Turns out the hose for my new nascar oil cooler had started to pull out of the AN fitting. Guess I need that hose to be a few inches longer. At that point I figured I'd call it a weekend.

When it was running, the car ran great. very strong and sounds bad ***. There wasnt anything in my run group I could not keep up with or blow past.
