New wheels on - what do you think?
Finally got around to actually bolting my twists up with the correct spacer after painting them and making some "adjustments" and drove it around.
First impressions:
Car sits taller - it doesn't look like much from outside, but it feels like a big difference from the driver's seat.
There's a little bit of rubbing on the inside edge of the rear tire - more may be necessary
Definitely more under steer with the 225/285 stagger - wider fronts are needed
Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the results.

I love that ^ view

With your ’86 you have more flexibility when choosing spacers and tire sizes. A 245/35 front will match the 285/30 rear circumference exactly and help reduce under steer too.
Looks great Dave!

Thanks!
Actually, it's Plasti Dip. I wasn't sure about the black so I figured I'd use something that could be removed easily. First time I've used Plasti Dip, and it will, almost certainly, be the last. Not impressed at all: It's absolutely unforgiving with tipping the can - it comes out all boogers at the slightest angle, which makes getting coverage on something complex like wheels really hard. It requires a minimum of 4 coats which take forever to cure. It smells worse than any aerosol product I've ever used. It makes your wheels feel like rubber. and it's not even kind of durable - I've already got spots where it's peeling after about 5miles of driving. Not a fan. In the near future, I'll pull them back off and peel the Plasti Dip and use my old standard - Duplicolor Low Gloss Engine Enamel. It'll look almost exactly the same, it'll be way less hassle, it'll cover better, and it'll hold up to abuse.
Yep, '86.
Yeah, well... it's my room mate's. He's usually got pretty good taste, but that one is definitely an exception. Big surprise - it's broken!
Yeah, the 245 is the plan. The front's are almost done that are on there now, so I'll be grabbing some 245s in the near future
Thanks!
Now I just need the power to go with it
Thanks!
Alfa Romeo GTV6 - Also my room mate's, although I do have a black one.
