From what I've seen you've accomplished that! Sorry to hear about the motor. What a F#$^#$^#&@-ER !!! Sounds a beast now. Good luck next week.

Now that is a beautiful torque curve, or should I say plateau! 400 lb/ft at 2700, and almost flat as a dinner table, Damn! Pulls strong and smooth all the way to redline, Must be a beast. Great to see, hope your troubles are now behind you.

It takes a good 300+ rpms on the dyno from the time you start the run to the time the engine is making it's normal power.
Here's an early run (same day) where the run was started at 2000 rpms instead of 2500 rpms on the final (previous) dyno.
This thing would easily be making very close to 400RWTQ at 2000rpms if we started the run at 1500rpms.
These V8's are amazing. That's what makes them so fun to drive in the 944 street cars.

Went to Willow Springs to test the engine. Nothing more than simply hammering the engine to make sure there were no further engine issues. Along with me were the two main people from RPM Motors who built the engine.
The car was on very old 25+ heat cycle tires, and the front tires were too small at 270 width (I will be running 300 front) as they are 911 take-offs which have rubber, but are far from competitive. Also... the ambient temp was 103F. The track was slow.
The engine worked flawlessly.
So I decided to hammer it and see what it would do.
Look at the lap times....

It had a lot of push because of the "skinny" front tires. The 1" wider 300's will make a huge difference and get rid of the push.
Then add "new" tires vs worn out old tires... and you have a solid 3-4 seconds.
Then add more with a different track day where the temps are cooler.
And don't forget about the bottom tray and rear difusser....
1:19's will ensure that it's untouchable in PCA/POC/NASA, etc....
So yeah... it's gonna do some damage in club racing :-)

That's great news. What was your previous best time and what is a good time for a Cup Car there?

Three Wheelin'
Where will you slot into NASA (class)?
Looking forward to seeing your tray and diffuser.
It would be nice to show up at the same event and kick some cup car butts.

They're allowed to stroke the 997 Cups out to 4ltr? Seems like it's a bit of 'Anything goes' in the Desert races! Still, that's exciting that you were on their pace in a shakedown run with a lot more left in your car.
