Nice one, Tony.

Hopefully the both of us will be ready for the next POC event there in September!

FYI... that last turn, Turn 9 at WSIR was exited at over 109mph. Top speed at the end of the straight was 155mph.

No. I sold my camera system with the last car.

And since technology moves so fast.... I wanted to wait until the last minute to purchase a camera system.

And that last minute is about now :-)

Gonna buy a system before the next race.

I kinda did the same thing. The new Smarty Cam GP HD looks good and that's what we went with. Writes live data to the video and has all that - wired in - no battery - Auto turn on/off...etc We've only just installed it so can't show you anything from ours yet but I would certainly consider one of these for your car.

The issue is that I need front and rear facing cameras for racing.

The Racepak IQ3 Logger Dash with their Smart Wire system that I have already log almost every aspect of the car.

The Racepak system is very tightly integrated with TrackVision software ($250).

If you have video (any video), you can easily integrate it using TrackVision and the logs generated with the IQ3 Logger Dash to produce great track videos.

So now I'm faced with this....

An AIM Cam... but that's only one way. I'd need two. And that would be around $3k before the dust cleared. And what they do sorta duplicated all the data logging I already have.

What would be cool is a PiP cam system @ 1080P (front & rear cams) that just did video & audio, and that could be hard wired for power, with automatic GPS or some sort of input triggers to automatically start recording.

.... It's a messy situation I find myself in!

There's no perfect system. I wanted the same as you're describing but aren't required to have pip or rearward facing camera. That was just a desire. So I opted out but went with all the other features of the AiM unit. You can do it on a budget and use the TrackVision software as you say. Just a bit more post prod hassle...but for a man of your means and working background I don't see that as an issue. Well except that it would cut down on your Cocktail time! There are other multi camera setups but the resolution is crappy...especially for how much they cost. If it's mandated by the race rules, what are other guys doing?

An simplier solution that require some manual work is to do multiple Go Pro's with the wifi remote that starts/stopps all cameras simultaneously and export the data from the dash and then combine everything in Racerender.

That's how I do it.

Yes, that's what I was thinking in relation to Tony's requirements.

Racerender looks indeed like a perfect program to do this! Best thing is you only need Gopro's and the logfile of your ecu/digidash!

The Smarty cam is nice but expensive. Very easy to use and integrates seamlessly with the Aim. I am using the non HD and no rear view which I need to add.

I don't need any data. I've got all the data on the Racepak IQ3 dash.

And I have to have 2 cameras.

I love the AIM products. The problem is that I need two cameras, auto on record, and HD.

What I need is just camera... no data. My Racepak IQ3 logger dash has all the data logged. No point in having just some of it on the camera when I can have all of it through my dash system.

Here's what I bought. $650 from ChaseCam. Its' a dual HD (1080P or 720P) DVR with 2 bullet cams. Uses a 64GB memory card and can do about 11 hours of recording on it.

http://www.chasecam.com/chasecam-dvr...ideo-recorder/

The DVR be set to record upon power up.

My Racepak IQ3 Logger Dash with the Smartwire has an output that is setup to start the dash logging and send power to the camera system at the same time. This gives, theoretically, perfectly synched up data and video.

The Racepak software (the software you run on your laptop/desktop to program the system as well as to review the data logs) has has the TrackVision software integrated.

Thus the only thing I have to do is to download the video. Open the Racepak software and select the video session that matches the data session and it builds the video with all the data and dash overlay and all the goodies.

Hope it works out as planned :-)

*** Update 8.22.14 ***

Bump steer issue resolved.

After countless hours doing measurements and calculations, and a lot of head scratching.... The bump steer is less than .4mm over 60mm of wheel travel (30mm up from rest and 30mm down from rest).
