That just looks so cool. Great view from above.

The Pagid Green pads.

This is not the original green compound the Cup Cars came with. It has been reformulated to be much softer with a much higher initial bite as well as a larger friction coefficient. Designed specifically for the Cup Cars without brake assist.

Currently these pads are only available from Porsche Motorsport, although I hear that the exclusive deal on the compound is going away and they they will, in the future, be available through normal retailers.

They run currently around $900 for both axles.

I know just a drop in the bucket for a car of this magnitude, but out of curiosity for us normal plebs, how long will a $900 set of pads last? 2-3 races, or even less?

4-5 race weekends (3 day events) I'm guessing.

But I hear the pads are going to get considerably less expensive once the exclusive deal with Porsche expires.

Well, better than I expected and after seeing what Patrick pays for a 55 gallon drum of race fuel, I think I will stay on the street. Damn, expensive hobby. Have not even factored in the crazy expensive tires too.

What's the roof skin made from?

Annoying about the oil leak. No tell signs when you're under it?

The roof is a thin single layer sheet metal. It's got a few dents that need to still be taken out. Not sure where it came from, but it's brazed on. I'm thinking its a factory non-sunroof skin. It's real thin and can't weigh much.

As far as the oil leak.... we think it's the oil pan. It will be off the car on Monday to inspect.

When I was racing, those green pads were far and away the best brake pads I every used... They were crazy expensive, then (and had to be shipped from Germany by Porsche Motorsports ) I got together with a number of guys in VA PCA Potomac region and bought like 20 + sets . I got like 6 front sets and 4 rear sets.... I think they were like ~500 for a set at the time ...
Here are some pictures

Wow. they really are green. I will have to try painting my DTC70s that colour and see if they work better!

On any custom oil pan you will want to tap the edges flat. They never come out perfectly straight.

It's the same oil pan I used on my LS1 in 2006 through 2009. And then reused on the LS6 through 2014.

Zero oil leaks.

Now the new stroker LS3 is leaking every time it's run on the track.

On the dyno... no oil leaks.

On the track... 2 laps and it's a smoke fest.

There's no question I will resolve it and fast. The only question is whether or not this new 396" LS3 stroker is going to be still in the car.......

Clearly related to g-loading. Could oil be coming out of a crankcase or valve cover breather? When you say smoke-fest, are you talking about an external oil leak hitting the exhaust?

Pulled the oil pan today. It's "warped"... meaning that it's not flat. The back area of the pan is "warped" (uhem... bent... like 1/8" from flat). This would explain the oi leak out the side onto the header.

Yeah......

Sounds like a storage / handling issue.
