And a 944 N/A with a GN motor doesn't qualify as a sleeper? I like my N/A but my 951 is in a whole nother league power wise, I would, not think twice about running down a 44S.

Why not just buy a turbo, how much advantage is the GN engine over the 944 for the amt of work to install?
I would prefer either the GN or a 944 turbo.
If going to do it, at least use a S2 or turbo front

I just see it as an alternate to a SBC swap. Maybe the S lost the cam belt $$$? Maybe he had a GN and wrecked it?
I saw my first Buick GN motor when,l I was working as a smog tech, lovely motors! It was illegally modded..but it passed!
I wouldn't do it but I think it's a cool car!

tell us what you really think....
yeah,
would totally suck having that reliable BGN engine in there with that steel timing chain....
and everything running like a turn key car.
compared to a legendary oem Porsche 4 motor.
sure, that Porsche motor is pissa.

it wouldn't be my first choice, but building one of these engines on a budget is fairly easy.
GNX oem plumbing/intercooler, Garrett 60/63 and you've got a very reliable 375 hp.
course, if you go this far, might as well just do a V8.
but you're right. definitely looming $$$ loss.
btw,
speaking of 6 cylinders, Chop might be up with a cool setup (soon) for the ________
