Just bored on a friday night before going bike racing here so I thought I'd recap last weekends fun.

We had a big cruise in my hometown that brought out all the old school and new school heavy hitters. We all headed out to "mexico" to do a little street racing. It would be the first time I've done this since I had my old Nova.

Had a few good races with the little 944. I raced a Hellion TT mustang that has ran 10's at 150 up here at the track. I ended up beating him pulling from behind as he had to turn it down a little. I beat a nitrous Z06 that couldn't hook to save his life. A supercharged 5.0 and won Had a rematch withhellion Mustang and unfortunately I had split my coil wire after the last pass and it ended up falling on it's face . So we are tied up right now. It was a great time until the cops came. Ended up getting into a few little roll races on the way home, .

I will say that this little black bitch works well on the street.

I got up a few hours later and went up to the colorado bug in. Check out the link above for how this car gets off the line lol.

I'm hoping to be able to run in the next street outlaws race against some older muscle cars. I think It may do better than I thought.

Sid, time to head out to Oklahoma City I have been following the Colorado Street Outlaws which looks to be a very active group.

That shot is way cool. Looks like it is just about to lift.

Sid - Out doing some testing tonight and curious about AIT. How high do your AIT's get at the MAF when you are setting in the box at the track?

Not very much above ambient. I'd have to look, but I don't think I get over 110 with this IC

Thanks Sid - My Rogue logger shows the MAF AIT (right after the filter) and it climbs fast once the car is fully up to temp and sits for a bit. I can see temps as high as 135F. Just a bit concerned about sitting in the heat waiting to run. Once the car is moving temps drop quickly.

Are you going up today?

If so shoot me a couple texts about how it's going. I went up weds, but got rained out after 2 runs. Tried I different MBC and ran 16 psi went 11.6 st 126. Tried a different MBC, and it looks promising to help with the bottom end.

Also, since it rained out esrly, I went to Joshs and we were working on the logger and forgot that we had a "traction map" loaded. I'll probably try that next week.

It's funny, I haven't had the floorboard down since my dyno run way back lol.

a thought that came to mind regarding spool -
what if a throttle body (electric tb would make this easier) were placed at the inlet of the compressor but used to create a restriction at lower rpms, making the pressure differential between the turbine side and the compressor side higher making it spool faster?

I'm not sure how that would work Spencer, but I'm not worried about spool. I'm trying to kill some low end torque. What I need is a speed based boost controller. What I'm probably going o end up with is a 2 stage electric controller that switches once into second gear.

However, after I get the rear end sorted, it's game on for coming out at full torque. It'll be interesting!!!

What kind of controller are you using?

An intelligent boost controller is an Arduino project waiting to happen. If you piped in the tach signal and the speedo signal, you can calculate which gear you're in and pulse the boost solenoid accordingly. That's what the Apexi controller does. If you add an ABS signal from the front wheel (if there is one?) you could even back off boost when the rears loose traction...

I had been using a Hallman, which I really like for a MBC. It hold rock steady.

I am trying a black **** style now bc it seems to creep up a little more in 3rd and 4th. If I can get it dialed into around 19 psi in fourth I'd like to see how 1st and second react. I'm hoping that it stays down a little bit.

Another controller I like a lot is the hks evc 1. But something happened to my electronic box while sitting, so I'm looking for another one. It was nice bc I could have 3 settings by hitting buttons.

Maybe one day I'll invest in a real EBC, but I haven't been convinced that they are as great as they sound yet.
