Just curious about you 3.0L+ guys

The black one has been for sale now for ages. They want $90k for a repro. Having said that they have used virtually all factory 968 rs turbo parts...these are both rhd too.

The green one actually sold for near 80k iirc a few years ago, it was rougher (and white) then, but it went in a few days, sometimes the right buyer is hard to find.

I'm very interested on seeing what happens in the next few months.

My only regret is having taken out a 2.5 engine that was performing faultlessly. It doesn't make sense to me working on a car that doesn't suffer from any mechanical issues, that doesn't need more than standard maintenance, and that sits where it just feels together in terms of upgrades.

After nearly 4 years with the 3.0 I got to drive a 2.5T engine again recently, with about the same level of mods that mine had when I pulled it, and found it rather pathetic. And that was in a converted 1170kg 924S. I can't say I regret the 2.5 engine anymore.

Yup, 3.0 is the right engine for the car. 2.5 would always have to work hard and be down on tq.

Building my own motor is something I've wanted to do for a long time, and the 3 liter is a beast, so I'd do it all over again (and might) for the pure satisfaction. That said, I've been helping Crazy Eddie dial in his 2.5L Vitesse-turbo/MAF turbo S car and have to say it feels pretty darn good...

fictional car story in 3...2...1...
should i get a 3.0 engine, or just get that black 968 ??
note: (not the one pictured below, but a regular n/a on Craigslist for $11 K)??
costs more than a 944.... but, it already comes with a 3.0. ... turbo-ing it is epic. but one day you say to yourself- 'hmmm, i'm 3/4s of the way there. guess i wanna get even more hurt...' so you start putting more cool stuff on the car....
it's nice driving for a few years. but there's a baby on the way and wifey asks (to your horror) if we can sell the car.... she's way hot, and doesn't have much experience not getting what she wants.... she's also never seen the build sheets, so.... guy comes over to see but things get fuzzy. the car on the (right) looks like the car on the (left). and--you inform him you require cash stuffed in an old gym bag (after wifey leaves to get her nails....)

Of course if Od finds himself offended (since we are outside RLOT) I will happily apologize and recant.
The request was more tongue-in-cheek than anything anyways (hopefully Od gets it). I see Od so infrequently here in the 944 forums (vs. over in RLOT) I often forget he has a 944.

Clearly you are not a regular in RLOT
