It would be nice to get the turbo on the header side but you would need to tilt the engine up completely and that would put the engine too tall and you would have to run a Hot Rodder scoop type of hood lol.

I'm very interested in seeing the torque curve on this setup. There's 2 types of schools for turbo headers. On the one hand is this setup with as short primary pipes as possible and on the other hand is a long primary header setup with equal length pipes and a long merge collector. The latter will improve VE at higher rpms but over the full rpm range with a manual gearbox I'm sure the former (Pat's setup) will be more optimal. Can't wait to see the dyno!
What is the cam specs now again? (secret?)

We didn't go to the 'length' you did on the headers Gustaf...sorry, pun intended. :-) It was more down to packaging and making things work with each other. Without CAD and CFD we're largely guessing and dealing with the constraints of the engine bay. In all hindsight now I might not have gone down this turbo and all the plumbing required's path but we're here now. Have a few more things to attend to while we wait for the intake, which in itself was a spur of the moment choice. I'm not expecting a 'perfect' motor but will be satisfied with pretty good. Much time and money was put into trying to make it last as much as extracting ultimate numbers from.

You've got 360 degree separation between the exhaust pulses per side and a ton of length so by my logic you can run whatever cams you want. If there's an expansion in the pipe diameter at the first Y's, then I think you'll probably get a reflected wave back to help with pumping losses after the exhaust valve seat has gone subsonic. My guess is that your setup is effective - whether it's cost effective is another question! ;-)

looking at the "spec sheet" just posted how did you make 94mm stroke with a 48mm rod journal?
wouldnt that require welding and then grinding (48mm offset journal only gives you 4mm more stroke vs stock = 92)

Patrick how does the space look where the two pipes attach to the turbo? I know that you don't have the steering shaft on that side of course.

Dry sump doesn't run the same oil pickup system as a stock setup. In the past I did have a clever wet sump setup which had mods to the oil pickup and 4 trapdoors. There 'might' be pics of this somewhere in this thread. Good luck if you choose to accept that mission. :-)
