Brings back some memories!
Damn Patrick you should have bought the last of my intake + fuel rail combo I had left..
I ended up making a new turbo mount to rotate the turbo straight forward. This puts the turbo much further away from the block and allowed me to build a 3.5" downpipe. Win win (but loose in time..)

Yes, its just time that gets in the way. While trying to defeat time we constantly get beaten by it. lol

Finally made it....just.
I call the shippers again and get put on hold. She comes back. "It's been delivered 1/2 an hour ago signed by Harry". Harry...half an hour ago?? Now I'm starting to imagine it is lost and someone shifty called Harry will disappear never to be seen again.

Looking at the pulleys on the crank of my 924 block. I think they had it right from the get-go.
You can see how the other pulleys bolt onto the main timing pulley. instead of 1 bold holding them all together.

Another thing we didn't count on was the header position being different. Same cylinder location therefore same exhaust port location right...wrong. Ports on 16v head are about an 30mm further rearwards than the 8v. We looked at how we could convert the existing 4-1 headers but it was going to be too difficult and retain the bungs for the EGTs. (Also fitted the Motec E888 Thermocouple kit which I'm really pleased about. We can now run much more accurate individual cylinder tuning) So new headers here we come. Just another delay and cost to finishing this build but the advantage is that these are now much more equal length than the last...so that's a good thing. Also to note, we had some flanges made up to fit the head and of course 3 fit perfectly, however the flange on # 4 is different. Didn't realise this either.
Apart from that there has been the relocating of the oil pump which resulted in a new bracket being made and a few other little teething issues which can be expected with so many custom parts. We're progressively moving through the list. Motor should be installed early next week and then we start on a new intake. Also the water pump is pretty big. Just need to find somewhere to mount it.

That's look really nice already Patrick!
It's a shame you can't make it to WTAC this year, but like Tim said in his thread, it's better not to rush things. It's going to be incredible when it's done!

You're kidding. Man what a set back. Well since you're not participating you can now take more time on it and less rush.
Still attending on one or both of the days?

Yes, I'll be out there. Paul is driving the Pulse Evo even though Steve Glenny is advertised.

Not sure I understand what happened with your headers, last time I saw 8V headers being modified to fit a 16V head there was no offset issue. Didn't you mention you had to move the turbo for the new larger turbine housing to clear the block?

Thom, the 8v exhaust ports are offset from the bore centerline towards the front of the engine.
The 16v ports are centered on the bore with a valve on either side.
Taking the manifold off the 8v head and putting it on the 16v head has the effect of moving manifold towards the back of the engine.
944 8v vs 944S:
