during the week this is what i got upto.

I made TiAL 38mm flanges so no more adaptor plates.

I put my old head on so i can mock up things while i wait for the new one.
i've still got to connect the grounds (when i figure out where they go)
do the braided fuel lines
power steering reservoir
connect all the steering arms and joints
Oil lines/cooler
radiator and lines
starter motor
figure out the catch can lines
and a few other small things.

Engine is back in.. just need to figure out where things go.

What is that screw for?

What bolt did this connect to?

You are getting close. Lookin good Paully!

What was your solution to the long turbo bolt being too short?

I just wish the head would come quicker!!

I pretty much just got the bolt and cut it down with an angle grinder. At the time from what i had i used vice grips and had a flap wheel (looks like sand paper stacked up on top looking like a stair case that goes right around) on the grinder and just kept taking the end of until it fit. when you do it make sure the end of the bolt is rounded not flat.

The bolt you pictured on the bell housing is for one of the bundles of grounds coming off the engine harness. The stud on the bell housing is for the negative cable.

The harness in the last picture is the supplemental ground used for Iceshark's headlight harness / battery cables. It should attach to one of three upper balance shaft cap bolts. It can go anywhere on the block really, i had it attached to the 4 bolts that hold the a/c / alternator bracket.

I like the coolant lines for the turbo, getting rid of that crossover pipe makes life alot easier when taking the radiator out or doing the belts.

Looks good, i miss my turbo engine sometimes.. or more accurately i miss driving my car .

Cover up those intake ports!

Thanks!

bolt for the little grounds.. gotcha!
ice shark cable to anywhere on the block. sweet

The crossover pipe is still there, not yet installed, there's 2 coolant lines on it, i just deleted one to make it easier for the turbo lines. I might see if i can delete the cross over pipe with another line though, haven't had the chance to look at it properly yet.

As for the intake ports, i've got rags in there stuffed all the way down. the head is just sitting there for mock up purposes only.

Sorry, I do not think I was very clear. I meant the long turbo mount bolt shown below. After going thru the adapter it is too short.

Here was Bruce's solution:

Today in some spare time i connected the arms and steering back on, I put the wheels on so i could drop it onto the floor so i could do the fuel lines. I bled the clutch, i'll need to replace the fluid also.

(clutch feels the same maybe slightly softer then my old Saches clutch (not sure how that compares to stock)

I mocked up a few things in my engine bay and realised my new Oil Catch Can i made hits the belt cover so i'll need to make spacers and raise it (no big deal)

All that is left from the top of my mind is:
Starter motor
need to position the gear stick linkage from the trans (sits to the left to much)
Oil cooler lines (new AN fittings)
Work out how to do the catch can lines (easy)
make a holder for my turbo oil filter
Finish my air filter cover (you can see in the pictures)

Take delivery of my head (just need to wait for the sender to send it)
and put the rest of it together.

I'm aiming to get it finished the 3rd of march, I have a Car show meet that i've been helping out and i have missed out on the actual indoor 2 day event car show which was in December, and missed out on the dyno day last month, So i'm really keen to get to the promo meet where i'm helping out.
I don't care if i drive it there while the piston rings are breaking in really.. it's a good drive in though the city and morning weekend traffic which would be good...

I hope that your car will be finished sooner than mine.. I want to have the engine in in the beginning of May! By that time we can start looking at each other's data logs!
