Since project car missed some smaller items like engine,my son bought M44/52,complete clutch, powersteering pump, alternator & AC-compressor. No turbo & intake, since we have some plans for those.
Alasdair sold the whole package to my son very cost effective price

Engine is taken from this wrecked '89 951 which look quite good....

From under it is totally different story

According to Alasdair engine was rebuilt 7Kmiles ago. Let's see; we are going to check it out anyway.

New parts proceed nicely. My friend have almost finished CF 951 strut brace. Weight is almost zero, but it felt very strong. Some final adjustment to design and son's strut brace is ready to bolt on

Here's phone pictures which are not good quality

He also fabricated some hubs to early 911 for another friend. This hub allowes to bolt on newer bigger Porsche rotors to old ET 911's without any difficulties with wheels, so no spacers or what so ever won't be needed. You can use Big Reds, 6-pot Monoblocks etc. with this hub. Also old ET 951 version will be here soon. So cheaper Porsche rotors without hat's can be used with old ET 951 as well. These hubs will be machined a bit, to reduce weight. Also anoized process is planned as well for extra strenght.

He will make hubs for son's project as well

Love the brace, perfect use for CF. If you had filled it with helium before glueing on the connectors, might have gone negitive weight. Cant wait to see what you guys come up with, using CF on the engine. I would like to hear how you form CF in the garage, do you have a vacuum oven? Inspirational as always Olli, Thanks.

Went to local car show yesterday with all three sons of mine. Had there great time. We were mainly looking for ideas. Nice show where all kind of vechiles were represented. Here's pictures of that show.Took lots of pictures from various turbo engines. Also my past as a american car friend forced me to take picturs of hot rods and some nice street machines. Most of these cars are from Finland & Sweden.

Dont mean to rain on the parade Olli, but your son's 951 rings my bell WAY more then the 'Chrome Queens'. Now then, that four banger scooter is one - sick - ride! [Looks like 2hp/lb.]

That black Challenger with 608cid Hemi was my favourite As i wrote, we were looking for some ideas. It's always good to study what people have done. I have got very good ideas what comes to 951 build ups from Hot Rodders

That tiny moped is called Suzuki PV, it was originally equipped with 50cc Suzuki engine. According to local rules mopeds can only have 1.5hp and maximum speed is 40km/h. With this Suzuki 750cc four banger it might be a little bit faster. These mopeds were very popular during the '80's here in Finland

Ya, Love Hemi's too. Had a Keith Black all aluminium 426 in the shop, no amount of measuring would get it in the engine bay.

Good stuff Olli. The Suzuki PV brings back some memories. That 750 is just nuts.

My son bought a dump valve for his project. Similar ones will be installed by two friends of mine for their 951's. This valve is well known design here in Finland and have been on market over 10 years. Very popular on 500-1500hp drag race cars

Here's similar dump valve installed into friend's two 951's (Arto951 here on Rennlist):

With Techart/OZ wheels we had to skip 6-piston Monoblock idea. 350mm rotor won't fit with these wheels. So we went to plan B and chooce another route to go. Ordered similar set up as can be seen from a pic. A friend of mine will make necessary caliper adapters and hats for rotors. This setup should work nicely with new billet aluminium big master cylinder

Wastegate issue was also nicely solved. Since car's owner is with empty pockets, we went to cheap clone which cost us €80. Can be bought as cheap as $45, but after wreight, duty fees and taxes it's about €80. I suppose after total rebuild (perhaps with Tial spare parts) it will do it's job just fine
