When son bought this project 951, there were some minor parts missing, like brakes, engine etc. I have several project engines available, but after we calculate how much it takes to rebuild them we realized we need antoher approach to solve this minor problem.
We managed to buy a 951 S engine from Scotland including the complete clutch and AC compressor which we also did not have. Engine was totally rebuilt 7Kmiles ago like the clutch as well.We got it for very "student-friendly-price"; big thank You to Alasdair. Now we have most of the componets to start put it back together again, just missing our special suspension which we hope to get within few weeks

We picked up about 50KG's of various parts from plater's shop. These has been plated with new liquids which does not contain chrome-6, which is now not allowed to use within EU countries. The shade of color is not as yellow as it used to be with "good-old-toxic" liquids. Now waiting to have the rest of the pieces from powder coater's.

My son sold his VR6 about two weeks ago. He had quite a lot technical difficulties with this car during four years he owned it. Now when everything was finally working, it was time to get rid of this car. He is fixing Golf IV Variant for his daily driver. Got it almost free since engine is not runnig after suffering a belt failure.

One of the last shots of his ex. VR6

Visited friend's workshop. Went there to see how our project's new parts manufacturing proceed.

New shifter was more or less ready.Friend made several other ones for some other people as well.Nice feature is the possibility to use original Porsche parts with this short shifter

Our new transmission carrier was under manufacturing process

Mazda RX7 oil cooler modified to fit 951

My friend was just changing oil pan gasket for a friend of his 951. He built this support to be able to remove crossmember

We are going to change interior color from burgundy to black/linen, so next step was to change roof liner color

from this

To this

We removed rear side windows to be sure black paint goes where it is needed.

Wow. Amazing and innovative project, in true Finnish style.

Not all EU countries apparently, as I just had parts plated locally in Barcelona a few months ago with yellow dichromate.

You might recognize them. They're SAAB parts.

Looks like good ol' Saab 900 parts. I have owned couple of 99's and my dad have also owned 99 & 900. Good quality Finnish made cars
Most Saab imported to USA during '70's & '80's were made in Finland by the same factory where now almost 90% of Boxters & Caymans are fabricated.
