Damn John, I need some of that coffee you had this morning.

Well said, you need to look at the entire system when upgrading.

I'm on my second cup now... Folgers aint just for cleaning coolant tanks you know!

The whole system approach is what it is... if you just want to bolt on and go, buy a full complete package.. I pieced mine together, but knew what it would take to make it work, did it, and was very happy with it up until smoke rolled out from under the dash next to my left knee.. now it is on to fix / upgrade / resolve even more stuff "while I am in there"..

You got your setup second hand, or have had it sitting for a while. (My first feeling is second hand, but I threw in the NOS as a add in)
You got the chips WITH the MAF, but not calibrated to everything else you have installed.
You are just using chips, and not any other means of tuning the car.
You did the install either based on what you were told, or your understanding of what you were told, and didn't ask Lindsey about their product.
You did several other changes at the same time as adding the MAF.
You don't have a meathod to read the chips you have, and take a look at what the actual fuel values are set to on your chips..
I called and emailed Russell Berry himself and he burned me custom chips to my EXACT setup.
The Turbo, Chip, and Injectors are new.
The MAF is very lightly used and was sold by a respected rennlister as in working condition (looks brand new).

Some of the vendors did different tasks with the FQS like change injector size etc. Might want to check with Berry and see if he is still using the FQS like the factory setup did. Don't forget about measuring fuel pressure.

can i leave a gauge inline on the end of the rail at all times or is that dangerous? i tried to check fuel press last night but we didnt have the right fitting for the end of the rail with my buddies kit.

While you are troubleshooting. I don't like to leave the gauge attached all the time, if it leaks there will be a fire.

Did you tell him you were running the MAF without a piggyback?

Unless you specificly ask for something else, his FQS settings are same as factory... Maxtune alows you to change them, as well as some other settings, but the chips he burns have the factory FQS values for fuel and timing...

Have you tried connecting your AFM back in?

this is how it currently runs...

in car footage has no throttle input from me at all.
(keep in mind i have no exhaust temp sensor hooked up on the zeitronix which is why it never changes temp)

when i'm under the hood giving it throttle by hand those popping noises seem like they are coming from the intake side

I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this has been covered but faced with similar behaviour on a mk4 golf it turned out to be a failing fuel pump. I would check the flow and wiring.
