Yeah, I'd love something like this. It wouldn't have to be fancy - something as simple as a correctly formed piece of red tinted lexan that would cover the taillights in a single piece instead of the 6 section deal that is stock would look cool.

I'm running over 3G cell phone link on my way to VIR, so I don't have the bandwidth to read everyone's replies. Pardon if this has been asked... How about the NA/GT Racing nose version of the splitter for us racers?

I'm excited about this thread as I really want my car to continue to stand out among all the $250,000 plus supercars at the valets here in Vegas. So far so good. But there's always more room for improvement. I agree with others in that you should stick to cosmetics as this thread has shown so many great ideas and thanks for asking. Seriously. Now on to my opinions.
The 968 TRS Wing. I know...D9 is making them. It's just what I want. They look so nice.
Updated rear tail lights. You've actually already done that. The 968 rear is awesome looking. Couple that with a carbon fiber rear diffuser like the few Chris White showed a few pages back and you'd have the whole package. That would be the ultimate in updating the rear with LED tail lights in the lenses. Then continue with a smooth under body for more down force. I love my high speed runs. Other newer cars are doing them. I want to keep up too.
HID lights and fogs. No more Halogen. We really need to update our cars lighting. LED lights for the rear in case you are going to make a whole new rear lights set up. It just has to be smooth like the 968 with a diffuser that works as well as the 951's. Like I mentioned above.
Lightweight body panels like TonyG suggested. I would love carbon fiber. It's getting cheaper and cheaper to make as time goes on. Hoods, fenders, sunroof skins, Lexan or better scratch resistant material for the rear hatch. This would pay for itself on all the hatch shocks we constantly have to buy. Rear 968 bumpers to offset the weight savings from the front, and carbon fiber dashes, interior panels, and updated door skins with leather inserts to really update our cars to look as nice as the newer Porsches. Especially like taking the ***** and such from the newer Porsches and incorporating them into ours. Like the A/C controls.
Super comfy light weight seats at a reasonable price. Think GT2 or Recaro with nice side and shoulder bolsters with carbon fiber backs. Or even better. How about those super light seats that resembled Star Wars Storm Trooper, that a company put into a modified Audi R8 two months ago in European Car Magazine. Anyone know what I'm talking about. Post up a pic if you do.
I'm another for a custom gauge panel in carbon fiber to hold, say, white Auto Meter gauges with Stainless Steel rings.
Great ideas here. And finally, thanks for asking CPR. Let's do this!

It's my opinion that the front of the car still looks fresh, especially with a splitter. It's the rear that looks dated,
it looks very 1970's with it's bumper, lights and molded wing.
Any pieces that would help update the rear and give it a more fresh look would be welcome.
Side skirt/underbody plastic pieces to replace existing with a more agressive look.
Light weight rear seat delete shelf/box.
968 style mirrors.

+1 on the side/under skirt pieces. Personally, I like the stock pieces on my '89 - they add to the look but aren't in your face. My little front pieces are warped from age/sun and have bugged me from the day I picker her up ...

Lightweight hood with a dual set of reverse louvers on each side in the low pressure area approx 8" from the windshield.
A lightweight hood and lexan hatch are the two big hit weight savers on these cars. Plus... as an added bonus, the weight is up high on the car. So dropping weight there has an even bigger advantage.
So... the louvers with the lightweight hood!!!!!! Kill two birds with one stone! The hood would be made with the louvers, so there would be no installation process. It's a one-shot deal. Just paint it and go.
Do it. Do it. Do it.

That would sell fairly well. You don't need to worry about CF either. Just make sure the fit is very good, so that it is a piece worthy of a nice street car, and this would sell well, IMHO.
