Default Big Blacks on.

Big Blacks, LR adaptors, 3.6 TT rotors.

Rotor size difference

The back shield has to go bye bye, so while you there, you might as well repack your wheel bearings. The three bolts that hold the shield, you can leave them out or put them back in for safe keeping, in case you ever want to add the brake cooling ducts that mount with those three bolts.

Now, the hub is back on and you've dumped the old caliper and installed the new one to the brake line ( I did it this way, the connection is loose to the brake line at the moment ) - you also want to make sure the caliper is orientated the right way - brake lines are on the bottom, bleeders at the top and the large piston is on the top.

New rotor is on, very smooth rotating and hits nothing now.

Now it's all together. I did use red loctite on the bolt from the caliper to the adaptor. You will have to reuse the spring washer, unless you have new, for the new bolts that hold the adaptor to the spindle.

Nice! What pads did you end up going with?

Mine "should be" on by the end of the month.

color only to my knowledge. Size, pads, and bolt pattern are the same.

No, they came that way, sort of primer grey. They came from Sunset Porsche as well as the calipers.

Im pretty sure all you need to do is reverse the position of the bleeders and cross over line. This is because the Big Blacks and Big Reds used different mounting positions...one was foward of the hub, the other was aft of it.

Cool. I understand Ski's car is an 87. Are adapters needed on Turbo S spindles?
