Isn't a leak of the fuel rail itself much more common than a failure of the line? When my 951 burned down I always figured it was the rail, and I have seen other posts to that effect.

What fails on the fuel rail (other than the jumper line)?
As for the fuel/return lines, I just routed them so they no longer sit over the exhaust. I ordered them from Rennbay with longer hoses (3' for the supply, 2' for the return IIRC).
is the rubber portion of the fuel lines simple enough to replace or does it take some serious disassembly? im imagining it to be a standard collar nut and thread onto the hard line.

Other than a line failure, why would there be a problem with the rail?
Can it get clogged?
If so, how?
What am I missing?
As with all system components, there may well be something that I've missed, and I don't like missing.
