You're kinda far up North by Jupiter, he lives in Weston near I-75, he could work on it in the evenings or weekend, it's up to you...

^^^^ Haha

But I can see how the car can be a PITA. The way I see it, it's pretty much you have a lot of money to spend on the car so someone else can work on it for you, or you have a lot of free time, knowledge, and equipment so you can work on it yourself.

Kokeln/Vision motorsports doesn't even accept 951s anymore unless you're a previously established customer. Apparently the time spent working on them isn't very profitable when compared to the newer model porsches.

Oh yeah, and i stand corrected, the s4 is a v6, i was thinking of the skyline GTR, which has a straight 6. And yeah, understeer is a big problem with the older quattro systems which are front wheel biased.

As for jap crap, they don't have the wow factor or the prestige that German cars (European cars in general) have, but for the price, they sure perform well. I expect the Nissan GTR will put the 997TT to shame by providing comparable or better performance at half the price. Jap crap also makes the best everyday drivers for commuting to and from work where MPGs and reliability is what matters most. Hell, the current chassis of the BMW 5 series got the lowest side impact crash rating, and got beat by Kia, Acura, and Toyota - you're pretty much paying for that little blue and white badge.

On another note, anyone else notice the trend of car adds over the last 2-3 years. Before billboards used to advertise horsepower and torque, now they advertise MPGs.

didn't take the time to read through the whole thread so I'm sure it was suggested, but I'd look into an audi S4 (the b5 ones from 2001ish)

I drove the GTI too, very nice, the Legacy GT is faster. I saw a test in
road and track, 0-60 in 5.3. I bought a new 05 in 06, no leather or sunroof
for $23,300 +tax. In 06 you had to get these options and the sticker was like
$30K. You might be able to get one after a rebate for $25K if you wait a little
longer.

Oh yeah, you can get a Cobb Access port, just run 93 octance and get around 290Hp out of the LegacyGT. Also take a look at the Mazdaspeed6, dealers by me were selling them for $5K off sticker.

The Legacy GT gets boost much ealier, my 89 951 had just chips and 1 bar banjo bolt, but once the boost hits it was way more powerful. Also the
Legacy GT is about 300# heavier. Never was able to test them side by side though. Might be even up to 60, then I'd say no contest, 951 hands down.
I drove a stock STI and I think it would be a close race to 120. I think the
951 just pulls so hard from 60+.

Mazdaspeed6 did horribly poor in sales, that's why they dropped their pants on the price....drove one, it's really heavy, but handles nice, third gear comes before 60, gear box sucks, no precise shifts, too long throws, not that good....

I pulled on a silver WRX the other day, and after 100 mph he was long gone in my rear, when he met up with me at the light, he said his turbo runs out of steam after 100mph in 4th gear, he admitted he couldn't keep up with me after 100mph.

I performed a "performance evaluation" with mazdaspeed6 and we were basically side by side up to 85. His car had an aftermarket intake and a chip(he didn't tell me what brands) and my car has an autothority chip.
