Great trap speed was 124mph. what kind of car was the car next to him on the 12.1 run? I bet that black car had less power than marcus car, but it manage to transfer it's power to the ground better than the 951.

I know you guys are going to hate me for this, but spending all that money in a 951 for a 1/4mile racing is dumb, check the next video a plain mustang with only 500hp, that's merely 425rwhp does the 1/4 mile in 10.6@133mph. I bet you guys that he didn't spend not even half of what any of the drag racers 951's have spent to achieve 12.1 seconds.

I don't thinkanyone around here is building a dedicated drag car out of a 951, that would be stupid. What a growing number of people around here are doing is having fun by bringing there track/street cars to the drag strip to see what they can do. It is a measurement of a certain aspect of a cars performance; acceleration with a standing start.

That black Audi S2 have in excess of 700hp and pulled 10,3 that was his best that day.
The other 300ZX has app. 650hp and is the same car who competed against Markus last weekend on 1km race and won by 3km difference.

Lart,
Your right our cars are fast from a rolling start or on a track but this is still a good way to test the car. Every car or truck mag test the car in the quartermile.
All cars get expensive when racing but thats the price to pay for fun and testing out new modifcations. A few runs for testing and curiosity shouldn't be a problem.
Thumbs up for both tool and tms. They did what no tuner has done, they tested the products for all to see in a realistic test.

Well, soon you will have a lot of 1/4 mile videos, now that the 944 turbo forum turned into Drag central thanks to Judge Reinhold and don't ask me why I said that but I don't have videos of the race also , but I do have pictures of BOTH contestants, soon to be posted at my earliest convenience

as of August 1st I don't own a 951 car, they are parts cars, even mine is gone to be chop as well, screw this, I am fixing my 67mustang to be a 10 second car, I want to live my life 10 seconds at a time.

Thank god that you finally get serious with the Mustang, make sure you put a mellon size shift light on the steering column , skinnies up front and cruise the strip for "kills".....

Quote from Edman951 Ian, i've been to the 1/4m and best i did was 12.66@117mph with a really bad 2.3sec 60ft
Dugup from old post just too compare times. As far as I know he was running GT30 turbo stock head and quite a bit miles on that engine. I would say that's not too bad.

I have stock 968 cams and head, stock head studs, stock pistons, 951 rods.. etc.

By the way my 60 ft was about the same as on edmans car. If I practise the launching or maybe use launch control I am able to do high 11 with that setup.

I post timeslips tomorrow
