Thought I'd do a bit of a Sunday revive of this thread.

The car pictured is featured earlier in this thread in a more basic form. Since then it's had a lot of work. Most importantly it has a 6 speed Albins Sequential gearbox in it! As far as I know the only 944 in the world with one?? I spoke to the builder who quoted me $50k+ to 'Drive in - drive away' which was a bit steep for my well worn pockets. (For you U.S. guys...that's to buy and install the SQ gearbox, NOT for the whole car!) They've obviously changed the livery and aero as well. From what the builder told me it's running a GT35 with modfied LR intake and Motec ECU. From memory it's a 3L 8v with CP pistons. Power figure is over 500hp.

Of course Tony's car will feature in this thread once finished and pretty close to the top of the list with the build quality as we've all seen.

Cool!

But the livery. They are clearly trying to pawn it off as one of "Melbourne's cheapeast cars". Boy, cars must be quite expensive in Melbourne if that's one of the cheapest!

Cue the tubeframe titans of the nineties and early 2000's.

Take care,

Yes, it's pretty awesome. I made some inquiries but it's just too expensive for me at the moment. Maybe oneday.

Good luck at that price. It will sit on the shelf for ever at $38k.
