Patrick, there is certain irony to this.

This used to be the Jagermiester car, I got to help with it at Sebring a coupe of years ago. Keep in mind that its not meant for 'full on' competition in club racing. The Owner is a big fan of vintage racing - where you have to have an odd combination of vintage look and feel and modern mechanicals.

Dave Smith has been ironing out the details on this one and there are a lot of trick parts which take a while to really fine tune.

Hmmm....now that it is in a Hugo Boos livery does that mean that the Jager cooler/dispenser has been taken out of the transporter? Probably not since the same owner now has a Jager 911 to add to his Blue Coral 911....

Yeah I know a bit about that car Chris. Not knocking it to be mean. Just felt like for the amount of potential it could have it comes up a little disappointing at least appearance/aero wise. I know that may be the 'Pot calling the Kettle Black' in some people's eyes. I have to live with my decision which is only one person's opinion anyway.

Over here (in the 'states') vintage racing is a very big business with really odd rules and cars. Half the drivers are no better than a first year open track driver....but they love to drive their cars on a track and tell their friends that they were racing. I still remember the shock of going to one of my favorite vintage races (Watkins Glen) and actually timing the Trans Am class (I used to race a Shelby GT350 back in the 80's) and finding out that my street 951 was turning faster lap times than most of the class!

Last year a class winning 914-6 race car turned a 2:30 lap into a win (small class) - Stock class 944 turbos run 2:13s in Porches club racing, A well driver 911 cup car can get down to a 1:55.....so a 914-6 race car (lightened, race motor, suspension upgrades) turning a 2:30 is really silly. My cool down laps are quicker than that!

Wow...interesting. I guess with such a large population comes a huge range of racing. Hey at least they're out there and having fun but, yes I sometimes see laptimes down here and wonder what the guys are getting out of it. If they're happy that's the bottom line.
